I was eager to try the face-basting technique recommended by Dr. Shereene Idriss, which calls for diaper rash cream to be used as an overnight occlusive. But I really didn’t want to use a product with petrolatum, for boring reasons I won’t go into. And I wanted something formulated without any added ingredients for fragrance, be they natural or synthetic.So I got the Pipette cream, which I’d used on my own babies’ bottoms and been impressed by. It was the perfect moisture seal for the face-basting technique and I highly recommend it if your skin feels dehydrated, inflamed, or otherwise in need of a boost.(The method: As soon as you get home in the evening, do your normal skincare routine, opting for nourishing rather than very active products — for example, a glycerine-based, hydrating serum and ceramide-laden moisturizer like Vanicream. Skip the retinols for one night, as you don’t want to cause irritation. Finish with a generous layer of diaper rash cream, which will feel amazing as you massage it into your skin. You’ll be white as a ghost at first, but with some massage it will reduce by about 90%. Go about your evening and then go to sleep. When you wake up, your skin will look and feel so calmed and nourished. I even do this on my limbs now, using Neutrogena sesame body oil as the moisture layer and the Pipette over that. If you suffer ashy/very thirsty legs, or want to feel how much softer and more hydrated your arms can feel with this method, I highly recommend it!)

Pipette is a really good brand. I bought this during my pregnancy because it is an EWG verified product, as are many of Pipette’s products, and because it had good reviews. My baby hasn’t had diaper rash. There was some skin breakdown in the very beginning in the first couple weeks after birth due to what was apparently near-constant peeing. We changed nappies frequently but there was no keeping up with it. Using Cavilon + this diaper rash cream helped it to resolve quite quickly. We use it overnight consistently, and if there is any skin reddening or irritation we apply this with each nappy change and it clears up within a day or two. Our baby also had an underarm yeast rash and it cleared up after about two days using this and frequent washing and drying. I was impressed by that! It has little to no scent, and spreads well. One tube lasts a long time.

Would have given this 5 stars but one of the tubes came expired even though the box itself said it didn't expire for another year and a half. I'm going to go with the date on the tube and not risk it on my newborn but otherwise an absolutely amazing product!

I use this because it has high ratings of being pure and natural. It's expensive but it's going on a sensitive area and I think that's worth it. It'll take application on 2-3 changes if there's a bad rash. My toddler gets bad rashes from eating acidic foods and this works fine.The feeling and look of the bottle is nice.

My toddler has extremely sensitive skin and this is the best diaper rash cream for her. Since switching to Pipette, she has had no diaper rashes! I love that this formula is fragrance-free as well. I would recommend using this if your child has sensitive skin.
