Sun Protection Cooling Arm Sleeves for Men &Women,Compression Sleeves for Football, Golf & Volleyball

This household has long appreciated UV sleeves. They provide sun protection without feeling sticky, like lotions, or needing to be rubbed in, like sprays, or needing to be reapplied. It may seem to be counter intuitive to wear long sleeves on a hot day, but they keep you cooler by keeping the sun off your skin. We use just one sleeve to block sun damage on the driver's door-side arm on long trips. They're also a barrier against biting insects. In a pinch, we've also used them for warmth when the weather changed on a mountaintop hike. Now for these sleeves: The fabric is smooth and typical in quality of other sleeves we've used. They are long enough to pull up past my biceps, which is good for slightly taller folks. The elastic at the top is milder than other sleeves and doesn't bind my upper arm, yet isn't inclined to roll or slide down below my bicep. However, the thumbhole appears to be unfinished, without reinforcement at the edges or corners to prevent tearing. This could become an issue with heavy wear and/or frequent washing. I expect they are washable but I always recommend washing sleeves in a lingerie bag. White sleeves reflect the sun's heat the best but also shows dirt the fastest. Considering how easy it is to lose a sleeve, it's a good idea to have a spare set. That makes this set a good value.

[Not a typo: Let's Silm, not Slim, is the brand on the sleeves] I got these "sun sleeves" for sun protection, as I do not have time to deal with messy sunblock when the dog gets walked a min of 5x p/day: Good shape to thumb hole, comfortable material feels like stockings but is thicker and therefore better.** Sleeves should be thicker so they can block more of the sun, and longer so they can cover more of someone's hands and upper arms. Anyway, they feel and/or look like stockings, so how is it cooling?** Nice array of color choices for the price (love getting 5 colors for the cost), but the beige and black look different in the listing: The photos from the vendor show a black that looks navy, and a beige with a pinkish hue, but Fear Not! I'm GLAD those 2 colors are NOT like their photo but was hoping the beige might match my skin color better; as it is lighter. Lastly, please realize how much you weight does not matter: I'm at least 80 lbs overweight, but very little of that went to my arms, and so the sleeves fit nicely.
