AMAZING BOOK
The anatomy and surgical atlas in this book is phenominal. My attendings pimp me on the same things that come directly out of this book. It's dense, has a ton of information, but it gives the info you need without any useless fluff. I find that Gabbe Obstetrics is "Easy to Read" but has a ton of useless and clinically irrelevant statistics in it, will tell you about the existence of thousands of studies, often that are conflicting, Williams is more straight to the point. This book tells you how to understand, recognize, and treat problems. I love this book.

Inadequate coverage of vulvar anatomy and sexual function
This book does not contain adequate coverage of the nerves and vasculature of the clitoris and labia minora. Neither sexual nor protective functions of the labia minora are mentioned. The distal course of the dorsal nerve within the clitoris itself is barely shown but not described. Injury to the dorsal nerve is not mentioned as a potential cause of sexual dysfunction. Sexual dysfunction is primarily approached as an issue of hormones and/or psychology. The physiology and biomechanics of arousal and orgasm are not adequately described. Labiaplasty is described as “safe and effective” despite inadequate coverage of operative anatomy. However, this is honestly the best OB/GYN textbook I have seen, as it does barely show the course of the dorsal nerve in the clitoris in one illustration. This is the only illustration of the distal course of the dorsal nerve in any OB/GYN textbooks I have seen, besides Williams Obstetrics, which shows the same illustration. Unfortunately, the illustration is anatomically incorrect - the clitoral hood should never be longer than the descending segment of the clitoral body.
