An item you want
When tigging heavy plate the residual heat can be a PITA to deal with. The tig finger deals with it like a champ and has quickly become an item I use more and more. It keeps the heat off your finger which is usually within inches of the work and slides smooth making difficult positioning easier.

Just what the doctor ordered.
This is a must for me, tig welding pipe is a finger and hand burning experience just to finish a long welding run. Love it.

Last one lasted 7 years
Amazon says I bought my last one in December of 2015. That's hard to believe but I guess it's been seven years and I just noticed a hole in my old one today. I use mine a lot even when MIG welding. I put this on my pointer finger and rest the torch on it. It is a little snug but with thin lamb-skin gloves it's fine. It beats having to awkwardly shift position in the middle of a long weld due to the fact that without it you would be cooking your finger.

It works and overall a great product.
Maybe just a personal preference but I don’t like how the ends aren’t continuously threaded together. I found myself constantly adjusting then because of this. Even when doubled over itself I couldn’t get away from this problem. It’s bound to bunch up and/or unfold while trying to use. There is plenty of length but it seems so unnecessary to have this much length when the ends could be tied together and the whole thing shortened. There’s also plenty of heat protection so all this length is again not necessary. Maybe I’m doing it wrong but it’s not even close to comfortable for this sole reason. You won’t get burnt but how many layers do you need of this thing. At some point you’re just welding your finger into the joint. I can get right next to the weld with it rolled up like it was a stitched together on the ends. I can see the thing start to smoke I’m so close and I don’t feel a thing. If I’m rolling this thing up wrong, send directions then lol. (Unlikely, since it’s not rocket science). I’m also welding on a 225 so that gives you a ballpark on what kind of heat I could potentially be exposed to.
