Puzzle games are important for your puppy/dog
When you get a puppy, you end up watching endless dog training videos. We adopted our puppy off the streets when she was already 4 months old. So watching training videos became a huge part of my schedule. Some of the good ones out there are Rachel Fusaro, Sarah Walsh, Zak George. All of them recommend mental engagement or stimulation along with physical exercise. While there are DIY puzzle games that you can make at home, using a cardboard box or a muffin tin, I would strongly recommend investing in these puzzle games. This one is a beginner one and my puppy caught on pretty fast. And she enjoys it a lot. While it won't take your puppy/dog more than 3 minutes or so to complete the game, once she gets a hang of it; it allows them to use and engage multiple sensory organs; including their nose. This game involves actions like swivel, slide. Club it with other puzzle games; and you get more actions for your dog to engage with - such as spin, throw, lift etc. I have this one and the brick one (Outward Hound Nina Ottosan). The brick one involves lifting and throwing. Both are level 1 games and my puppy looks forward to playing or solving them every day. I can vouch for that. I try and give her both the games at least twice a day. Just make sure you are using healthy treats. If your dog is kibble motivated then use that. Mine is not. So I use treats. I introduced my puppy to the Stay command with these games. She is always so enthusiastic to play these, that she is ready to jump at them. I used the opportunity to introduce her to "Stay". So yeah. Regarding the durability; it's good. Just make sure that you retrieve and store away the games after each session. These aren't balls or plush toys to play rough with. It's a puzzle game. So use them just as that. And they should last long enough. Also make sure your puppy is using the nose more than her paw to play these. Using the nose stimulates them and tires them out. So train them to play the games using their nose.
