Q: Why is this not packaged as a first alert product? is this really manufactured by first alert or is it "brk" brand. looks fake.

The following is from First Alerts website: "The same parent company (Newell Brands) owns First Alert and BRK. First Alert is our retail division, and BRK is our commercial division. Note: Some retailers sell BRK products under the First Alert brand. Although BRK packaging is different, rest assured that you'll receive the same quality First Alert product."

Q: Not ul std complaint? the units don’t have the ul logo, rather wording only “confirms to ul std 217”. and the box is not first alert branded. fake??

Does it even work?

The media could not be loaded. Why is it not working? I’m literally holding smoke near it. The test alarm indicates it’s working but it’s not reacting to such intense smoke.
