Made at Home: The food I cook for the people I love

Bought mainly because a friend told me it was being sold so ridiculously cheaply (£3.00) and I was a big fan of his big Made In Italy book. Made a good few meals so far: the porchetta recipe was superb; the octopus and artichoke was a challenge - whilst very nice it was probably not worth the effort. (I’ll certainly never prepare an artichoke again!) Many of the snacks look really nice too. A nice book to have.

For some reason this hardback book was being sold for £4.00, despite being the most recent of Giorgios "Made At... " series.Some reviewers have suggested that the recipes are too simple. There are indeed some simple ones, but they are usually vegetable accompaniments or starters and that is clearly stated. Plenty of the other recipes are lengthy, detailed, and using innovative combinations.There is also a small but good bread section, and the cake recipes are totally inspiring.Bargain book, brilliant recipes.... Get it at this price while you can!!

Great book at the right price and efficient service

This latest book is a great, but long awaited follow up to Made in Italy, and, Made in Sicily. Really great collection of recipes that always work and taste great. But more than that - I love reading it - Giorgio has the ability to transport you to his food memories, whether they be at home, Italy or the restaurant - doesn't matter as they're all great. Love it.A very begrudging criticism - spotted a recipe where putting the meat in the oven was missing from the detailed instructions - that said I worked it out and can't see any other issues.

Georgio's books are a great read because they look, feel and read tremendously well. This volume is no different and contains food you'll want to taste if you love Italian like I do. The bonus was I picked this book up for £3.99 which I thought was a pricing mistake.

Some absolute delights, some not yet within my grasp but one can always hope!

Loved the book! I was worried it'd be hard to follow at home (impression that some chefs like fancy steps!) Well, I have tried 4 of the recipes over the last 2 weeks now (pumpkin soup, wild mushroom gnocchi, swiss chard with baked eggs and roast pork ribs with savoy cabbage) and they were all ace and delicious!! Recipes were easy to follow and all ingredients you need you probably have at home already!Will be trying more recipes in the coming weeks!
