XBOX ONE SNIPER ELITE 4 LIMITED EDITION

amazing random gift to my dad, it turned up within estimated delivery date-valentines day. bought this particular game as he had completed all others and my mum suggested this one as my dad mentioned this to her a couple times but refused to buy it at this price and wanted to wait several months for it to be reduced. he is now addicted to this game, and it is also a longer playing game than the other various games hes had which has delighted him even further. the game play is amazing, can be challeging, but not incredibly hard. some of the missions do take several hours to complete, which he is happy with, again-its a longer game play so the whole game will take longer to complete. ive peeked in a few times and seen the graphics are amazing, even the gore is impressive. i have recommended this to other game players i know, one being my teenage son.

For any fan of Sniper Elite 2 and 3, this game is a MUST BUY!For those that don't know, Sniper Elite is a 3rd person (over the shoulder perspective) tactical and co-operative shooter. You play the part of Karl Fairburne, yes that's right the same sniper from all past games only this one is based in Italy, where as SE3 was based in Africa and SE2 which was a remake of the original was based in Berlin.Each location change adds a different dynamic to the game and stops them all feeling or looking alike, this time around you find yourself helping the Italian resistance . I actually received my copy of the game a day early and have been playing it for several hours including the campaign (both single and in co-op), survival (horde mode) which is brilliant and i've played a handful of matches on multiplayer where each lobby can hold a maximum of 12 players. There are several online modes and maps available and certainly at launch there seems to be a good number of players online.SE4 takes the foundations of the previous game and builds on them, everything that worked in past games remains unchanged but new features have been added, like the ability to whistle at roaming patrols to draw their attention besides throwing rocks and the usual equipment at your disposal. X-ray kill cam is as brilliant as ever, more or less the same as the system used in SE3 but with improved damage and effects when in hand to had combat, using a knife or when shrapnel from a grenade goes to work. Sniping is just as satisfying as it was in the past, you line up your target across the open range and wait for some cover noise so no to awaken every Nazi in the valley, BOOM, you see the bullet travel in slow motion towards the target who is completely unaware of the destruction that is about to greet him, you are treated to the most gory and explosive slow motion killcam i've seen, it was worth the wait! In other respects they have made the game harder, you now have to manually spot each target with your binoculars, simply viewing them isn't sufficient, this means those hidden Nazis where just the top of the helmet sticks out in view won't be spotted, you have to change your angle of approach and constantly keep spotting targets. Close quarters guns are just as inaccurate as they were in SE3, specifically because the game wants you to think ahead and kill everyone with your sniper at range, the developers clearly thought that if you're going to get close and use a silenced pistol then "we'll make it harder for you to kill"Let me talk briefly about the map design in the campaign, the maps are MASSIVE and brilliantly layed out, at least twice the size of those found in SE3, they're also far more open and not as linear, meaning you can now go about your missions several different ways. However, we all know the real draw of this game and that is the campaign co-op. You can now play the whole campaign from start to finish with up to 4 friends rather than then 2 player limit in SE3, Naturally the more players the easier the game becomes but having played the first two levels in 4 player co-op with some randomers online i have to say it isn't as fun as it was with just 2 players. Why? Well with 4 we found that there was always at least one of us waiting around and scratching our heads waiting on the others, there just wasn't enough to do for 4 people which is why i'm recommending you stick to 2 player co-op if you can. The AI are similar in intelligence to past outings, they can be trigger happy and spot you even when you're crouched and hidden behind a wall and then insta-kill you as if the wall doesn't exist so there are a few bugs and glitches, broadly speaking it seems to work quite well.Graphically the game looks just as gorgeous as SE3 did, indeed in some areas i would say it's a massive improvement and i doubt anyone will complain at the quality of what you see and hear, the developers did a good job!Survival mode (horde mode) is better suited to 4 players co-op, fending off wave after wave of enemies and vehicles, using your surroundings and knowing where they enter the map is crucial to surviving, it's actually just as fun as multiplayer if not more so!!Multiplayer has several different modes, including Control mode where you must try to hold a moving point (think conquest), it's actually the only mode where close quarters weapons are needed as the rest are all Sniping modes much the same as SE3.Pros: New Weapons and gadgets * X-RAY Kill cam returns better than ever * Melee kills * Sensational sniping * Most tactical game yet * 4 player co-op * Booby trap dead nazis * Survival mode * Multiplayer is where you can test your skills against other human snipers and sorts the men from the boys * Beautiful map design all with excellent layouts * Graphics * The game favours a stealthy approach and one where you take your time * On authentic difficulty the AI are brutalCons: Not the best story in the series * Multiplayer is already infested with people that camp all the best sniping spots and insta-kill you as soon as you spawn * Had a few bugs in survival mode where the final one or two AI couldn't be found on the map anywhere so we had to restart after 8 waves * Solo campaign isn't as fun as playing with a friend * Level up system seems pointless beyond a certain pointVERDICT: This game like previous outings won't be for everyone, very much a marmite game which favours those that prefer to take things slow and plan ahead. The game wants you to use the environment as cover, whether that be a wall or a noise in the distance to mask your shots. Simply running around with an SMG with get you and everyone in your team killed, if that is your preferred method then i suggest you go and play Call of Duty or Battlefield because here is a game that rewards planning, logic and foresight. If you didn't like previous games then you won't like this as it follows the same basic DNA as before. If you did like the past few games then i totally recommend this to you especially if you have a friend to play it with. Don't get me wrong the multiplayer is the weakest link, the modes available only favour those that pick the game up early and have the time to find the best camping spots, i can already see player numbers dropping off in the next few weeks especially if a certain number of players exploit this. Aside from that this is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TACTICAL SHOOTER and worthy successor to SE3!

Great condition game

Follows the same theme as S.E-V2 and S.E-3, but with much bigger free roaming environments and some new tweaks.Overall, absolutely brilliant, - graphics look very polished / detailed, and it's great to sneak around to avoid the enemy and find the perfect sniping spot.What's especially good is the replay value, you can go back over the same mission, but approach the mission tasks from a totally different route time after time and use an array of weapons.Great value, love the game and let's hope when S.E-5 comes out, they don't change things to much - if you love sniping, "BUY IT"

I have played this game through all the series. This is the best of them all, you can and do get really involved in each mission. The graphics are excellent.The only problem I did have was with the extra mission "kill the fuhrer". It would not play after being loaded and it seems other people have had the same problem. I loaded it twice more and it did eventually work, I then went on to enjoy and complete the rest of the game.I would definitely recommend this game and cannot wait for the next one to be released.
