I have been using Ace combs since I can’t remember, the only ones I will ever use.

This review is for their 4.3 in pocket comb. The comb has 2 different rows of teeth, the longer row is made of lager teeths spaced farther apart, while the teeth on shorter row is thinner and spaced closer. The difference between Ace brand and other brands is that their teeth feel sturdier, firmer , and the edges of the teeth are rounded; Other brands may have flimsy teeth with pointy/sharp edges. A pointy edge scratches the scalp ( not in a good way,) causing irritation, and a filmsy teeth bends, tangling the hair, offering less grip/ less tension with the scalp/hair as you comb through. There is also a better hold on a Ace comb with less likelihood of the comb slipping off you hand. The only con with the Ace Pocket comb is that that teeth on the shorter row will breaks off over time. I have purchased the same sized comb before and This didn't happen as fast. However, Other brands will eventually have the same issue. As of now , I think Ace is still the best for the price . They haven't changed the design of their teeth, but wish it will hold up longer like it did in the past.

Comb hubby has been using for years. Seems to like to disappear from time to time. Therefore replacing that which was lost

For reference, I have a classic Goody comb that's older than I am, that was given to me by my parent, and that I've been using for over 20 years. It's still in perfect condition, feels great, and has no missing or bent teeth whatsoever.This Ace comb feels close to it, but it's a lot poorer quality. While it feels good and works well, the teeth started breaking off in a year under normal conditions that my classic comb was put through for decades without any sign of wear. These Ace combs are good, but they are disposable and will probably need to be replaced every few months. Classic planned obsolescence to keep you buying.
