Whats the width of these pads youth or adult size? I have a different brand about 5" wide and its a tough fit for 7yr old shin guards.

I have the youth size and they fit my son's catching gear well, he is 6 years old!

Will these work with leg guards that have Velcro straps?

Not sure but they don't come with anything to hold them on I email the people who I bought them from and I never got a answer. So my daughter does not use them
