CAN CLOTHES BE BOUGHT FOR THEM?

I don't think clothes can be purchased separately in the United States. I have never personally seen them for sale. I have seen clothes available on other auction sites and are usually imported from Japan and varies parts of Europe. I hope this helps.

Are their tails stiff, and could they easily break off?

The tails are somewhat bendable (with a slight give). I don't think they could easily fall off. However for a younger child I would wait until they are a little more gentle with their toys before giving them a Calico Critter.

Are these suitable for a two year old?

I’m not sure what you are asking. I purchased these for my 3 yr old granddaughter for Christmas last year. She absolutely loves the set and house. WARNING!!! There are very small parts to the house...I removed them before giving it to my 3 yr old granddaughter. She did manage to pull the whiskers from one of the cats. I let her do it. All of the critters are posable and the clothes are removable. I also watch her very closely while playing with this set. So, depending on your comfort level...it’s up to you.
