Saved my Dyson handheld from going to tip, works like new again, holds charge very well too

I had a handheld Dyson which I adored. It broke over a year or so ago, so I thought. We made do with our cord vacuum but with our house being 3 storeys it was not fun. I longed to get the handheld back. Whilst clearing out things for the skip and charity shop, I came across the Dyson and gave it one last shot by purchasing this battery. I had little hope to be honest but it worked and we have the vacuum back. I don't think I was this happy when we bought it - I guess I know now how much I missed it. These cordless vacuums batteries are not designed to last I don't feel, so before you throw yours away, try replacing the battery first it might just save it.

I've been using this for six months in a Dyson DC59 with the original wall bracket charger and been generally happy with performance. It seems to charge fairly quickly and lasts longer when vacuuming than the original battery. Fitting it is easy enough, just a matter of undoing two screws.Unfortunately the battery suddenly stopped charging. It turns out the charger socket had got pushed back into the battery case and no longer makes proper contact with the plug. This never happened in many years of use of the original battery.Update: after fixing the displaced socket problem, this battery lasted about 4 years before needing replacement. Not as long as the original Dyson part, but certainly good enough for the price.

Brought this as a replacement battery for my Dyson animal v6 and have to say it has lasted couple of days without charging and was easy to install , amazing value

I bought this three months ago to replace my Dyson battery that would not hold a charge.Battery arrived promptly and was easy to swap.Fully charged the battery but it lasted only five minutes. Have tried a few more times, same thing.Trying to get it sorted under warranty is a nightmare, no real help from anyone on how to do this.Suggest you pay a little bit more and by an original one from Dyson, for a better warranty process if nothing else.

Early days at the moment but it fits, it works and doesn’t get hot when charging.Hopefully it will stay that way.

Probably goes without saying - but I purchased this to replace an old Dyson battery after nearly 6 years.I have 2 border collies who shed a lot, so I get daily use from my vacuum. So far, so good. I've been using this for roughly 2 months and it has done the job I would expect it to do, and not running out before I would expect it to run out.I don't expect this to last nearly as long as a Dyson battery one would, but for the price, I would be happy if this survived 1-2 years as it is a very low cost replacement.It's worth noting, I use my Dyson on the standard power setting, and not the "Max Power" mode, as I am generally picking up loose hair rather than needing a deep cleaning vac - so I can't comment on how long it lasts using this mode.
