The description states it will work with lens up to 82mm, but my 82mm lens will not fit tight up to the clear plastic part on either side, and because of the gap gives inconsistent readings for the white balance. This make this filter useless in my opinion if you have an 82mm lens. Smaller than 80mm would be fine, but the advertising should reflect this clearly (NOT for lens larger than 80mm) I must pay to return item, double fault.

Exactly as described and pictured. Quality of the materials is very good when you consider the price for this. The neck strap feels and looks like strong, fine silk, though I'm sure it's synthetic. Even the grey carrying case seems like good material.The business part of this - the opaque light diffuser - upon casual observation, seems exactly the same as the other, crazy expensive brands. It does what it is supposed to for me. I cannot test it scientifically, but from eyeing the resulting pictures, it works. BTW, I'm not a pro photographer. I take macro's of plant parts for identification purposes, so colour accuracy is important. I have not tested it for skin tones. There are reviews on Amazon.com that go into much more detail.Also, I was surprised when it showed up in my mail 9 days after ordering it - it came from Guangdong China!One thing to be aware of, the size of the filter is 3 1/4 inches square, so if you have big lenses that have a larger outside diameter than that size, it will let light by and you will either need to use a grey card instead or find a larger one of these.
