Why put water in your tires?

Tractor tires are often filled with water to add weight which adds traction. Especially for lighter tractors in the 3000 lb to 6000 lb. range. Big heavy tractors don't need it. Not for garden tractors either. I put about 50 gallons of water in each of my rear tractor tires. That adds about 800 lb to the weight of my tractor. Makes a huge difference when pushing or pulling.
