EuroGraphics Antique World Map Puzzle (1000-Piece)

Awesome puzzle. Made well. Strong pieces. Absolutely beautiful colors also. We are framing it for our son.

Have recently started doing jigsaw puzzles, have interest in old world maps. So this was interesting. The pieces were in my opinion a loose fit.

Nice thick, sturdy pieces and nicely printed - but each piece is so oddly shaped it was really hard to determine the proper orientation of the pieces. My Dad and I used to work 1000 pc jigsaw pieces for days on end during the snowy winter seasons, so we were a pretty good team at assembling puzzles - but 3 days in and we still had quite a ways to go on this one! It's really pretty, and we love old maps, but wow - what a beast! I think if I'd known about the shapes I probably would've passed on this one - with my dad being colorblind, it just put this one a level of difficulty over the top for us. Lettering could have helped identify "families" of pieces - if you could read Latin - but the tiny lettering for the country names are so small that we found them to be illegible - so you can't rely on the writing to identify where a piece/country belongs. It sure is beautiful, though and will be greatly satisfying if/when we get it finished.If you want a challenge, this one is for you!

The puzzle is of good quality and we enjoyed the challenge. This was our first 1000 piece puzzle and it took about 2 weeks to put it together.

Really fun to do, tricky but not too difficult, there are some fairly small pieces, so wouldn't recommend around small children. Overall, awesome!

They must have changed the puzzle recently because mine is nothing like others described or like the photo. Almost all pieces (except edges) were the classic H-shape, which can make the process very boring and tedious. Some pieces were also stuck together on arrival and tore up a bit when separated. Very dusty as well. I might frame this then because it's a nice image that's definitely not being done again.

I had to have this product replaced because a piece was missing on the first one. As I have already worked the first puzzle, I doubt I will work this second one any time soon. However, I really enjoyed working the original puzzle, as it was a real challenge. Had a piece not been missing, I would have easily given the puzzle a 5. The subject of the puzzle and the challenge are always the mix I seek, so this puzzle fit both criteria. I fully expect this puzzle will be one I work over and over again with my family and provide great memories through the years.

It's quite a curious one. All the non-edge pieces have two holes and two lugs. They all look at first glance to be exactly the same shape. Fortunately they are not all the same colour. And it turns out, they are not all the same shape either.I have no idea how the Ancient Mariner used this type of map to catch his albatross. For me there were pieces, pieces everywhere, not any piece to fit. Be prepared for a long time analysing vague shapes and vague colours and vague patterns. There are simple areas but most are head-achingly intricate. I nearly resorted to cutting some of the pieces to make them fit, but so far all the ones that didn't fit were actually in the wrong place. Fancy that.A total waste of time.Which is, of course, why jigsaws exist.

Perfecto me ha encantado el puzzle. Lo he disfrutado mucho. Buen acabado. Me gustaría que las piezas fueran más irregulares como en el puzzle de Boticelli el nacimiento de Venus o Blue Venice de Manet. todos ellos de eurographics. Todos estos puzzles los he disfrutado muchísimo. Gracias
