Great Book
The best book i read after the cultural code. A lot to learn about management. However, the look of the book is simple and it looks like a 500 rs book. It costs me 1200 almost but look is so simple. Can anyone tell me if this book is original or a fake one? I have uploaded pics.

A powerful narrative
General Electric or GE was the Corporate which was the forefront of modern management..from the Bell Curve to Sig Sigma it epitomised performance and constant growth with steady profits, and with it an unbeatable PR machine pitchforking its CEO, Jack Welch as the wonder man who scripted this enviable performance. This book is a reminder that if something is too good to be true, in most cases it is just smoke and mirrors...A must reading to fully understand, how Corporates with long cherished histories in old world brick and mortar Businesses’ are trapped in a self deception mode of the CEO’s image, and why the chase for shareholder value and quarterly results are likely to be tempted by cleverly dressed up accounting assumptions of revenues, bordering on frauds, with high powered M & As, and deal making, only to be consumed by the forces of time and inevitable reckoning ,when reality hits after a couple of years. Typically, it is the case when it is a conglomerate meshed in multiple businesses with its complexities and size that it is taken for granted that “all is well”, given its reputation and careful image building...A timely reminder that all that glitters is never gold!! A well researched and superbly written book...

Hubris, Bravado and Pride a heady cocktail
Any company is as good as its culture. This book is a wake-up for any leader who thinks that they are above it all !!Being humble, acknowledging your humanity and staying at bay from Hubris go a longway.

A moderately interesting, sometimes meandering tale of GE's downfall
The book starts off as an incisive, fast-paced tale that blows the lid off the incredible financial machinations that happened at GE. The shady transactions and slimy accounting processes that GE used to move billions of dollars, fooling investors and analysts alike, make for amazing reading. (Also makes you wonder how much of this is still going on at major corporations, conveniently hidden behind the scenes. In the second half, the book slows down and plods along at a reduced pace. It becomes a bit vague and... boring. I definitely lost interest over the last 150 pages 😔I'm sorry, I can't recommend that you buy a copy.. 😒

An insightful book.
A book full of insights in the inner workings of GE and its fall and how hubris can make any company fall of the cliff.

Comprehensive Analysis of the fall of GE
A very well constructed book , capturing the main events sequentially. Understanding the issues and consequent impact of the decisions on the company clearly brought out. The scale of the systematic exploitation of the rules and regulations by such a reputed and globally recognised company, beggars belief. When the regulations tightened - the leeway and manipulation ! had to stop.

A good book, though, a tad slanted
It's as if Immelt did nothing right. Or Welch. Or anybody else for that matter. Still, a worthwhile few hours of reading
