Great book. Explains how and why some sounds are made.

This book can be a great addition to a classroom or to those parents who wish to expand their child's knowledge on the physics of sounds. This book is short but contains valuable information about sounds that children can relate to their everyday life. It has basic terminology for children from ages 1st-4th grade can easily understand. It incorporates an amazing use of animal representation throughout the book which can bring joy and encouragement to those young readers! I love the vibrant colors used in the illustrations they are phenomenal and eye catching. I love the addition of the illustration of the inner ear which explains how sound is transmitted, the decibel comparison chart which compares how loud sounds are , and the frequency range(high and low sounds) of certain animals hearings compared to humans! Which were all really cool to observe. Overall this book is definitely a must have for your collection!

Did you know that elephants can make sound that others can hear 4miles away??? I didn't either until I read this book. There is a lot of information about sound in this book, perfect for curious elementary school kids. I really appreciated the interactive spreads as well. Kids are encouraged to clap and strum and practicing their listening skills to hear various pitches. Super cool! I could see this book going over really well in classrooms and outdoor education as well. The illustrations are fun and inspiring! The main character takes the reader through the experience of listening and is an active representation of them.

This book had the best illustrations!!! It shows a boy walking around where he lives and also around the neighborhood. Not only does he talks about all the little sounds, but they tell you how the sound is made. This would be a great book for a classroom read about sounds.

Very fascinating and beautifully illustrated book. This book will make a great classroom and homeschooling resource. Includes great notes and a craft at the end.
