Best slip joint pliers
I never gave a lot of thought to a pair of standard slip joint pliers. They were just there and got used. These are far beyond anything I ever recall owning. I’ve had them all from the tool trucks to home center and others. Most end up lost/misplaced or in someone else’s tool collection ( I have 2 sons). These have a unusual shape to the handle;but,it seems to give more gripping power. They feel good in the hands and have a better fit than you usually see in other pliers. They are definitely well built. I’ll be buying more for the truck, boat and house. Also, I really like the flush pivot bolt.

These are really nice pliers
I am glad that I found these Wilde Tool pliers. The set of three is a perfect set. Everything most home owners will ever need. They are made well and they work well. The fit and finish is excellent.I will definitely buy more Wilde tools. I do have some vintage WIlde tools that have to be at least 40 years old and they are still going strong. These tools are made to last.

Quality can not be mistaken.
Only rated based upon ergonomics and value for the money. Thickness is not necessarily a benchmark for durability. Though these are definitely NOT under built for their size.More to the point is the quality and composition of the metal used. This really determines the longevity and operational dependability (ruggedness) of any hand tool. What it is made of is more important than outward appearance. Bottom line—this company would not be in business as long as it has if it did not produce quality products made from quality materials. The finishing touches (machining, polishing and precision fitting) all add satisfaction to the finished product. Definitely “Five Star” all the way!

Good pliers
Good pliers that last. After a few years you may need to add a dab of locktie to the screw but great otherwise

Why the complaints?
Great pliers. Slip joints by nature have a bit of play in them, my Mitutoyo's measured 1mm at the tip without any tightening/adjustment. I gave the nut a 1/4 turn just before they got too tight to open without a hassle and the play was reduced to .5mm. These are comparable to my USA Snap-on pair, and the nice Japanese pair of Engineers I have. The complaints about the narrow handles are quickly dismissed when you grab onto something at which point the handles are perfect. The handles make this the perfect back pocket pair. If you need to grab something with a larger diameter or need to really crank something tight grab the Knipex Cobras. Knipex Cobras are good for 95% of jobs but sometimes you just need a good pair of slip joints. These are a great pair and at $16-ish and made in the USA you might as well own two pairs.I want to add that it is hard to find a great pair of these in the oxide finish. The cheap chrome ones flake and leave deposits where you don't want them. The good chrome ones are often 3-5x the price of these.

New Slip-Joint Pliers
This set of pliers has the possibility of being REALLY good. The handles are a little too straight and not really ergonomically correct for maximum grip. The quality of metal casting etc. seem really good. Jaws are almost perfect. Mainly the handles that need a little more curve to form a little fuller hand feel.

Nice sturdy set of pliers!
As a new farmer, one of the main tools I realized I needed to add to my everyday carry was this pair of pliers. They're well-built, sturdy pliers. The red handles will be easy to spot if dropped, and the flush fastener will allow me to get into tight spaces. The handles are loose enough to work easily, but the action is nice and tight. Would buy another one if these were lost.
