Q: is this lube good for firearms?

I’d find something else with more body. This is a very light oil made to have very little resistance in fishing reel bearings to help you cast further. I think you’d want something else like Break Free CLP or Frog Lube for firearms.

Q: Is this oil a synthetic?

ReelX would be considered fully synthetic. The CorrosionX (and ReelX and SpeedX) Polar Bonding chemistry is extremely complex and what we call the core or base CorrosionX “molecule” is unique and completely engineered. To that core formula, there are over a dozen additives (which all would also be considered synthetic) to modify various performance aspect depending on whether it’s CorrosionX, ReelX or SpeedX.

Q: Can we use it for Cookware handles to prevent corrosion

The company became well known because of it's now famous "Corrosion X". Reel X has addedhigh performance lubricants for use in high speed bearings such as fishing reels. I would imagine Corrosion X would suit you better. Yes the anti corrosion properties of these productsare superb and well tested in harsh saltwater conditions by many anglers. I reccomend contacting the company for information regarding max temp usage. I do know it's made to work on big game fishing reels that can generate a lot of heat and it holds up fine.

I'm about 90% sure you'll be fine. Like all oil-based products, ReelX will become more viscous the lower the temperature. The pour point is probably in the -5 to 0 degrees F range, so even at the extreme low temperatures you're playing in, while you won't get the same amazing spin rates you might normally get with ReelX, it should still do a nice job of preventing wear and corrosion.
