Q: Is this an aluminum wok with an iron coating? I want to cook on an iron surface. Is the cooking surface iron?

It is heavy, like cast iron, but not super thick - like a cast iron skillet. I don’t think it has aluminum. It’s really nice - does a great job. I would not have bought it if I thought it had any aluminum in it.

Q: Could the manufacturer or a knowledgeable seller clarify whether or not this has a Teflon coating?

I am neither of the sources you requested. However, the packaging that came with the Imusa wok clearly states that the wok is ‘naturally nonstick with proper seasoning’. It is merely pre-seasoned from the manufacturer with natural oil. Just plain cast iron.

Q: Why does it say Aluminum construction?

it is made of thinner cast iron but lightweight, Magnets will stick to it and can be used in induction stove, The handle is non-magnetic. I use it a lot compared to my heavy cast iron wok.

Q: Do I need to season it once again over time although it was pre seasoned ?

It came very well seasoned from the factory. Whenever I fry in it the residual oil just wipes out with a paper towel it is clean and shiny. It sits on the stove overnight in my morning it’s more of a Dull Matt finish. The oil slowly soaked into it. The only time I gave it a late scrubbing was when some breading burnt on the bottom inside. I used the steel mesh scrubber and it was gone in 3seconds. Really like this wok. For the price you cannot go wrong. Besides you could always return it to Amazon in 30 days
