Q: Can you use texture paste on this gelli plate?

I put texture paste or modeling paste or caluk from the hardware store on an 8 x 10 canvas board (or any size you desire) and make my pattern. When it is dry you can use this board to make marks or designs on the paint on your Gelli Plate without putting these compounds on your gelli. I would never use texture paste directly on the plate.

Q: Can you successfully use cheap craft paint with/on this plate?

I use Apple Barrel, Ceramcoat or Folk Art acrylic paints which I buy for a good price at Walmart. They actually work better than more expensive paints. I buy watercolors in a tube and also use them on my Gel Plate. I mix them sometimes with a little Matte Gel Medium.

Q: I am looking for ideas of how to store this.

I store mine in original packages after cleaning

Q: can this gel plate be cut to another size?

I don't see any reason why not. It's "solid".....no gel would "run out". I'm thinking of purchasing a larger one to cut down to 8 1/2 X 11" to fit a standard sheet of paper.
