Authentic as buying it at an Army Surplus Store!! And saved me a 30 mile trip to get to one!! My son is beyond happy with his new fishing hat!!! Would definitely buy again!! Only downfall was how it was packaged the brim needs to be starched and ironed.

I've been looking for an urban digital boonie hat for a long time. This one is great, lightweight and rip stop material.

I like the hat overall. But, it has one issue. Being a white hat compounds this issue. The piece of leather used as an adjuster on the retention string will bleed brown on any cloth it comes in contact with while wet. If the hat were a dark color it wouldn't be noticeable. But, with the hat being white, it is very noticeable. I could not get the stain out & noticed other places where the same had happened. I cut the leather piece off already. I'd suggest the same to anyone else. Only, cut it off before it stains any lighter colored cloth.

I've had a number of these. Eventually they kind of wear out and the chin string breaks. This one is a replacement for my last one that lasted a number of years. There isn't much to say. These are good hats that protect from the sun and are lightweight enough to fold up and put in your back pocket. I will say that they tend to be a little stiff like cardboard when you first get them so you kind of need to wash and wear them some before they break in but that's a small issue.

I bought this hat at least 20 years ago. It’s still in great shape. It washes out well. I’ve taken it on every camping trip and any trip where I will be out in the sun for extended periods of time and it has never let me down.

This hat runs large

I recently went on a trip to Disneyland. It was a hot day that day, and being surrounded by thousands of other park-goers made it that much hotter. One thing I didn't have to worry about was getting sunburned on any part of my head. This hat gave me a great deal of protection from the sun, shielding my face and neck from the nefarious sun's rays. The rest of my body burned to a crisp. But that's another story. What I really love about this hat is how great looking it is. I happen to think this hat looks very stylish, and I received many compliments on it. As far as the quality of the hat, it's top-notch. Craftsmanship and materials are great, and I didn't have any problems with it feeling too heavy or tight. Just make sure you measure your head and order the right size. I'm glad they come in a size that fits my big melon head. This is an inexpensive, great quality product, that I was NOT given a discount for a review. However, I'd gladly pay full price for another one of these bad boys. They're just that good.
