Brilliant Work Light by DeWalt
The DeWalt DCBL050 is a terrific work light for those who constantly needs to brighten up a large area for various tasks. Or if you're "light" me, my house is quite dim, especially the garage and storage area and this light comes in handy many times over.It has two modes. In high setting it gives out up to 1000 lumens ensuring you can clearly see a large area that you're working in. Depressing soft rubber trigger one more time, the light will be in low setting for about 300 lumens in case you're either don't need as much light or to save batter power. Doing all this brilliant work is headline by a strip of 3 LEDs. The light's pivoting head can tilt forward up to 90 degrees, and backward up to 50 degrees which increases its versatility in various situations. On top of the light housing is a stainless steel hook to hang from a ceiling or a 2 by rafter. The soft grip rubber is very comfortable in hand which can minimize stress and fatique even during long use. Without a DeWalt battery attached, this unit is very flimsy and has a difficult time standing straight on its own. However, with a battery attached which also acts as a standing base, the light has no risk of tipping or falling over even with its head tilting forward or back. As with any battery operated light, the DCBL050 will have an increased run time with a higher rated AH pack. The run time on its highest setting can be about 60 to 90 minutes per AH. For example, a brand new DeWalt 4AH battery can power this light from 4 to 6 hours. On some units, the swivel head can be a little bit loose and will easily tilt forward or back. In hanging position, the DCBL050 can only remain straight because of its own and attached battery weight pulling it down. The best feature of the DCBL050 is its ability to detect when battery is low on power. It will occasionally flash and automatically switch to lower light setting of 300 lumens to increase run time. This is the best indicator for users to change out battery, giving users peace of mind when using it. You will never have to worry about it completely draining your battery without you knowing while you're busy completing your work, and in the process damaging your expensive DeWalt lithium battery. If you're on the DeWalt platform with several batteries like I am, go for it. You won't regret buying and using the DCBL050. Don't even think about using third party work light with your expensive DeWalt battery packs because of the low battery indicator stated above. The DCBL050 is reasonably priced on Amazon, unlike typical big box stores which can cost two times as much or even higher. The DCBL050 is cheap, your DeWalt battery packs are expensive. Protect your battery packs and buy this light.Personally, I bought four units. Two of them for work, and the other two for home use. I love them so much that I will probably buy two more and place them around my house in preparation for power outage.100% recommended.

Great illumination, great battery life
I just received mine yesterday and put it into service addressing an on-demand water heater issue. I used it for a 1/2 hour or so in the afternoon to shine light into my Noritz. Later in the evening I decided to put the front cover back on it so I used the light again, hanging from an overheat water pipe: hook feature is great. However, I forgot to turn it OFF and noticed it still ON this morning, a full 12 hours later. It spent the night on the LOW setting (300 lumens).I find the LOW setting was plenty of light for what I was doing, a nice floodlight beam, and being close to the work. I had my 5Ahr battery attached to it.With the 5Ahr connected, I tested its balance on the floor at all the angles the head allows: no problem on a level floor. This may get a bit wobbly and unstable if powered by a smaller battery at full angle. FYI.Expensive for a small work light, but I went down the DeWalt road and now have a bunch of batteries and chargers so this purchase made good sense and I'm very happy with it.

Dewalt DCL050 Type 12
This is the Dewalt DCL050 Type 12 version which is 300 lumens on low and 1000 lumens on high. It is more than sufficient lighting when working in one spotted area inside or outside. It is very useful when working on electrical switches, HVAC, or anything in the dark. The light bends 90 degrees and bends the opposite direction also. It is light weight so it can be easily handheld anywhere for convenience. I used a 20V max 1.5amp Dewalt battery which is the least powered battery but it lasted more than 3 hours and was still going after I finished my job on the 300 lumens setting. It also has a hook if you need to hang it. It is definitely worth buying especially if you already have Dewalt batteries. If you need to see far away or light up an entire room then you would need to consider other Dewalt flash lights or alternative but for everyday use, for spot areas, this is the best flashlight. It will not blind your eyes. It is just right. I strongly recommend this item!

Very bright
I've been happy with all dewalt products I've bought so far. Just quality built things, at least for now. Here's the bad things I have to say about it:The light output is very bright and in a small area it can be overwhelming particularly if you need to put the light in front of you, it will end up being too bright, even on the low setting. If you have the smaller battery pack (like in my picture) it won't stand up on its own with the head tilted all the way back (so that the light faces upwards). It will fall over. With the larger battery pack the additional weight will keep it from falling backwards. With the (small) 2Ah battery on high setting it will not last all day, either. Maybe 3-4 hours? I'm not sure exactly. When it's running low the light starts blinking to warn you, and switches to low output, but still will only last a couple more minutes so you need to rush to get that new battery if that would leave you in the dark. But this is the benefit of a battery light, you can just swap it out real quick, or buy a larger one for the job.I'm 10/10 on it, love it. Well worth it.
