Got these for free after complaining to Amazon BUT... 5 stars
I received these in a package that looked like it had been taped together. When I opened the box, the shoes were CLEARLY a return with the tag cut off and scuff marks on the sides and bottom. Also, the shoe made a clicking sound with every step. I contacted Amazon to tell them I was send used shoes & that I shouldn't have to pay full price. Amazon told me to keep the shoes & returned my money. Now, maybe because they were free I decided to abuse them. And abuse I did. I was shocked by the performance, especially after reading some reviews.First, this thing has GRIP. Wow. I've been using Nike Pegasus trail runners for a few years and they're great but the grip is ridiculous, even dangerous. They slip on wet stone. But the Ride 4 has so much grip that I tried to clean them off on the Welcome mat at my home and the shoes got stuck and wouldn't budge. That's how much grip there is.Second, some complain about the lace scheme breaking. I don't even know why anyone needs to tighten these shoes. If you get the right size, once your foot is inside, you shouldn't ever have to tighten them. They're not coming off your feet unless you're a size 10 who HAS TO buy a 12 for some reason. I've put these on and taken them off multiple times without ever needing to tighten up.Third, though this shoe doesn't mention water resistance, it's relatively good at that too. I've run through puddles without my feet getting wet.Fourth, and maybe the most important is the toe space. I've had shoes that were so tight that it caused ridiculous rubbing, causing burns and cuts on my toes. Not these. So much space. Perfect amount. I can practically split my toes apart while wearing this shoe. This may be the best trail runners I've ever owned.

Great trail shoes!
These shoes have served me well for over 100 miles now, they run on the firm side, but I like that in a trail shoe. Grip is great on anything but deep mud. Highly recommend recommended!

I really wanted to like these but…
I normally buy Nike running shoes but after some of their latest PR stunts I just can’t support the company anymore. So I’ve been looking for a new shoe brand. I really wanted to like these because (let’s be real) it’s what all the cool operator kids are wearing. I figured, being Solomons, they’d give me 10+ speed and endurance or something. I’ll probably try other Solomon shoes in the future but their running shoes just aren’t my favorite. They look sick and the features sound good on paper. But in practice they just aren’t comfortable for me. Full disclosure, I do have freakishly large feet and toes shaped like fingers. But I was able to find a pair in my size and they just weren’t comfortable. The biggest issue I have is the sole insert feels “bumpy”. It took me a few months (yes I’ve kept them and continued to wear them for 3 months) to figure out that the material that connects the tongue to the shoe was getting under the insert somehow. Pulling up the tongue helped some but I find I have to stop and adjust it at least once a run. It’s led to some minor foot pain. Some people also complained about a “clicking” sound while breaking them in. I noticed that but honestly it’s not a huge deal. I normally run with emergency medical supplies so I’m used to making noise while I run. It goes away and it’s not that noticeable. The materials seem fairly durable and well made. After 3 months of regular abuse I haven’t noticed any damage. I normally go through running shoes crazy fast so that is a redeeming quality. They do seem high quality. Honestly, running shoes are very individual and, while I found these very uncomfortable, I don’t doubt they are good shoes and may fit others better. At the end of the day though I will not be ordering running shoes from this company again for myself. I may try their hiking boots/shoes (which is what they’re known for) so I can still hang with the cool kids, but the running shoes are just too uncomfortable for me to try them again. As I said earlier though, running shoes are a very individual and personal thing so your mileage may vary. I wanted to love these (and you still may) but I just don’t.

GREAT TRAIL SHOES
These have held up better than all of the expensive top rated trail shoes I have used before. Comfortable. Not too much cushion yet supportive. Good for me.
