This delivers exactly what it promises!
The whole point of this book is to have make-ahead recipes so that on the day of the gathering you can spend time with your guests instead of cooking.I bought this for my husband because whenever we have gatherings he ends up working in the kit hen or at the grill the whole time our guests are here. This gives us good, solid recipes that can be prepped ahead of time so he can enjoy his guests.I read some of the reviews that complained of the amount of time over several days, but the prep has to be done sometime, right? If you don't want to do the work, get your party catered.Thebother complaint I saw was that people live in places where they may have difficulty getting some of the ingredients (e.g., water cress). So swap it with something else! Be creative!

Disappointing and not like his other books
I love Jamie Oliver and his recipe books. I have them all and use them constantly, so bought this one right away when it became available. It's very disappointing. I love his other recipes as they involve very few and simple ingredients. The instructions are clear, easy and the results are amazing. The recipes in this book however involve uncommon or seasonal ingredients (I live in a rural area so just cannot pop to my shop for watercress or some exotic cut of meat) and a lot of fiddly preparation. Also, the whole concept of doing things the day before is annoying. I want to cook dinner, not undertake a 2 day epic involving a lot of weird ingredients and fiddly instructions. I started on one recipe last night and realized there was a semi-hidden ingredient I didn't have and that it involved overnight refrigeration so had to abandon it. The book is useless. There's not one thing in here I am motivated to make.

Refreshing
Love the new old/new recipes with Oliver’s wit and charm. The lamb with the abricot sauce is a keeper. The drinks are Devine and easy. Great book.

Wonderful way to entertain
I ordered this cookbook after seeing the PBS cooking show. His recipes are based on doing much of the prep work ahead of time so you have time to enjoy your guests and party ( especially after coming out of separation from a pandemic). The recipes have unusual layerings of seasonings which will add to your skills as a cook.

Great book
Love this book. Follows his TV series and very good explaining of recipes. Entertaining reading, too.

Jamie is the bomb!!
I like the ease and simplicity of his menus. I have only tried one recipe so far, but have sat and gone through and marked many more to try. We loved the eggs, avocado, tomato and scallion bake!

If you like the TV series …
… you will love the book. All your favorite Jamie recipes in one volume. Only minor quibble is the paper stock used is not high quality shiny stock.

Liked it. Time til delivery was 10 days ...over memorial day weekend.

Jamie in name only
It's got Jamie on the front cover and a foreword by the man himself however that's where it ends. Poor format, rehashed recipes and barely nothing new. A pale shadow of a book which will be consigned to the back of the cupboard very quickly indeed. Don't bother.

Poor layout
Firstly I should start with a positive, the meals look really quite healthy and fresh however there is nothing that really stands out and make me think that I really want to cook it. I hate the layout as I prefer it in sections that I can go straight to for starter, main etc.... also on some of the recipes you have to read through the entire page to get the ingredients, as a collector of cook books I would not recommend this, sorry Jamie. Buy his Super food family classics instead much better.

Disappointing
I am usually a huge fan of Jamie books. Normally when I get a new Jamie and begin to read it, I’m immediately making notes of what I will cook and when, adding bits to my online shop and generally excited to get cracking. This book left me cold. The directions are written as long paragraphs that you have to hunt through to work out what you’re supposed to do. Some recipes don’t have an ingredient list at all they’re just muddled in with the text which is really annoying. A heavy emphasis on vegetarian and fish, which is fine if so inclined but may be less than thrilling to some. Sadly there is not a single recipe that I will bother to make. Such a shame.

‘Together’...we stand
📝 ‘TOGETHER ~ a joyous celebration of incredible food to share.’💖 ‘Dedicated to the NHS & KEYWORKERS for looking after us and keeping the nation going, enabling us to get back together'From the back cover (image below refers):📝 ‘More than 120 exciting and easy-to-follow recipes ~ TOGETHER will help you create incredible meals to share with the people you love.’The current stock images + ‘LOOK INSIDE’ facility above give an idea of the layout.Although this book has been kept under ‘wraps’ until the big release day (in terms of reviewing), I have already tried a good few recipes that have been aired in the weekend colour supplements. These did make me expect more vibrancy than that in the book, now it is in hand, but that is the norm these days.My favourite recipe to date so far, tried & tasted over the rather dull late summer Bank Holiday here in the UK is...’CRISPY PESTO CHICKEN’ (serving 6), pages 144 & 145 complete with a ‘VEGGIE LOVE’ swap. ‘SILKY WHITE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE’ (serving 4), on pages 202 & 203, benefits from a ‘VEGAN LOVE’ swap.ooOoo~ JAMIE OLIVER~ TOGETHER: MEMORABLE MEALS MADE EASY~ MICHAEL JOSEPH~ 1st EDITION: 2nd September 2021With an orange coloured fabric ribbon marker to keep your place, the chunky tome measures roughly 19.5 cm x 25 cm, the thick hardboard covers opening to 360 matte-finish pages, split over 19 main chapters (image below refers), namely: 1. ~ Brunch Party 2. ~ Laid-back Feast 3. ~ Curry Night 4. ~ Taco Party 5. ~ Sunny Gathering 6. ~ Last-Minute Feast 7. ~ Steak Night 8. ~ Fun Family Meal 9. ~ Summery Feast 10. ~ Garden Lunch 11. ~ Colourful Comfort 12. ~ Picnic Love 13. ~ Elegant Simplicity 14. ~ Harvest Festival 15. ~ Table for Two 16. ~ Autumnal Fare 17. ~ Cosy Indulgence 18. ~ Celebration Roast 19. ~ The Wonder of CocktailsWith accompanying photography (some on-location) from DAVID LOFTUS, LEVON BISS & PAUL STUART, clear list/s of INGREDIENTS + detailed instructions, nothing gets missed...e.g. an opening note to each recipe along with advice on how to ‘GET AHEAD’, tweaks/alternatives, serving suggestions, along with the all-important nutritional value etc. given for all recipes in a table at the back of the book.Occasionally, additional advice is given, e.g. ‘ASK YOUR BUTCHER’, in ‘SLOW-ROASTED LAMB’, which runs from page 162 to 165, with other handy tips dotted around, such as 'LOVE YOUR LEFTOVERS'.The usual JO ‘THANK YOU’ is at the back just ahead of the alphabetical INDEX, which is in a relatively small print (to my eye).ooOoo📝‘Being with our loved ones has never felt so important, and great food is the perfect excuse to get together. Each chapter features a meal, from seasonal feasts to curry nights, with a simple, achievable menu that can be mostly prepped ahead.Jamie's aim ~ whether you are following the full meal or choosing just one of the 130 individual recipes ~ is to minimise your time in the kitchen so you can maximise the time you spend with your guests.Jamie's ‘Together’ also helps to take the stress out of cooking by arming you with tips, tricks & hacks to stay organised and get ahead of the game.Inspirational but practical, ‘Together’ is about comfort, celebration, creating new memories and, above all, sharing fantastic food. This is about memorable meals, made easy.Let's tuck in ~ TOGETHER!’[24 images attached ©Jamie Oliver, David Loftus, Levon Biss, Paul Stuart/2021]

This is Jamie's worst book ever
This is just a book full of side dishes, salads and drinks. There is nothing new and very few substantial meals.I am shocked at how poor the dishes in this book are.I really don't need to be taught how to prepare a salad or mash a potato, or prepare a pineapple. This is the worst cookbook I own (and I use the word Cook very loosely).Save your money, as you will be very disappointed by this.It appears that Jamie has ran out of ideas and recipes.
