Bought these purposely to retrieve a socket from the engine bay The strongest magnet worked I'm not sure how much use the smaller ones are going to be in the future it's only ever the strongest magnets we need they should just have a twin pack of really strong ones.... They extend your good length

Great value magnetic pickup tools
Good value for a set of these.The magnetic force ascribed to the individual tools seems about right and they seem well made.There is quite a bit of overlap in functionality of the 3 most powerful so I suppose if you wanted to, you could remove a magnet from the heads of one of these and you would have a very compact but powerful magnet always to hand to use for various other purposes. I guess that means if one of these breaks you could at least salvage the magnet so not all would be lost - unless it’s down a drain somewhere along with your keys but that scenario would be extremely unlikely to break one of these as in the pulling action they are very strong and can pull an oil filled radiator across the floor!

Solution to a problem
The finest magnet was perfect for retrieving a needle from inside my sewing machine. The larger ones will be good for picking up pins, needles and tools dropped in awkward places. Not too big when contracted to put in my sewing box. Excellent
