Creole Kingpin: The Magnolia Duet, Book 1

So glad that Magnolia’s story is going to be told ,from reading Lachlan & Keira’s story we all know what a naughty girl she was at school and what she did that led to her being expelled !! . Lately she been instrumental in getting Lachlan & Keira together which led to their HEA and more recently they’ve become parents to a gorgeous little girl. Although she’s a tough Madame it’s not always been that way the story flashes back to fifteen years prior to the present time when New Orleans was battered by Hurricane Katrina . Close to death when she was saved by Moses Gaspard and both enjoyed a very hot all be it short but unforgettable time together before he left promising her that he’ll come back to get her . Although she could have gone with him Magnolia stayed and carved a name for herself in the city she loved , but she always hated the fact that up, until now he hadn’t come for her . Now it would seem that Moses has come back for her , add into the mix that someone is trying to kill Magnolia and you have one hell of a story unfolding . With lots of twists ,turns , Secrets , tonnes of angst ,danger and with the sexual chemistry between them off the charts , you know you’re in for one mahoosive emotional roller coaster ride which stops temporarily at the OMG cliff hanger end ......you also have the bonus of Lachlan & Keira Popping up ❤️❤️...... which is good as you can never have enough of Mr Mount 😍.

Well we return to New Orleans and learn more about Magnolia and her past, present and what may be her future. We encounter Mount again and Kiera, who have an adorable rogue of a daughter called Aurora, a princess by name and by nature. Her father dotes on his two women, but remains the king of the New Orleans castle. 15 years ago Magnolia mets her knight in shining amour too, Moses, a gentleman who rescues her whilst Katrina reeks havoc, and then abandons her after a few days. Enough of the spoilers. The story is fast moving. Destructive, in relationships and some mighty dark secrets are eluded to. There is drama, emotions, exceptional tender and intimate moments, that make your toes curl. However as ever there is one heck of a cliff hanger, that thwacks you across the skull, and makes you realise you’ve come to the end of this first parter just as your heart is racing and you want for more!!!!!! Well written, beautifully descriptive and edited. Believable characters old and new, mingle and weave an hypnotic tale that I can’t wait to conclude.

Just as the book started getting interesting, it ended. Feel this started a bit slow then picked up speed. Still smashed through this in 2 days. Magnolia is in other books by this author and so is Moses, so already know part of the back story. They have been apart for 15 years and now he’s back to claim what’s his. In true Meghan style there are bumps along the way. Looking forward to the next book

Another fabulous book!I really love this author and this is another great story.Moses was totally different to how I thought he would be, I thought he would be really hard but actually he's a big softie. Don't get me wrong you wouldn't want to cross him but for Magnolia you could feel how much he adores her.Magnolia is one tough cookie, she's had some terrible things happen to her in her past but incredibly strong to be able to live the life she leads. She doesn't roll over easily for anyone and I loved how she made Moses work for her attention. She needs a strong determined man to be able to stand beside her.Electrifying chemistry, lots of heat and spark. Loved how the story unfolded and glad I waited to read this until the second part was published as I hate to wait when I've loved a book this much. Am diving straight into Madam Temptress.

Meghan has another winner with this book be prepared to not put it down till your finished it keeps you turning pages till the last one has been readMagnolia is one feisty lady and when Moses comes back into her life after a fifteen year absence sparks fly off the pages so fast my damm kindle almost blew up .. Without giving the plot away as you really need to read this for yourself suffice to say I can't wait for the next book

OMG! Meghan has hit it out of the park once again. Finally we get Magnolia's story and this first book is an absolute doozy! For 15 years Magnolia has kept silent about the man who stole and broke her heart. When he returns she's thrown into a tailspin that has her questioning everything. Throw in a mystery of why someone is targeting her and you get a thrill from the first page to the last. Shame 5 stars is all I can give

We’re back in New Orleans and we finally have Magnolia’s story!Magnolia is a fierce and strong character. All her life she has worked to better herself, relying on no one, but her herself. She may not have lead the most honest life, but everything she has worked for is all hers.She’s changing her life around and is looking forward to the future, however, a chance encounter with a local psychic has her spooked and not only that, a man from her past makes an appearance, someone she thought was long gone but her heart now beats a steadier rhythm knowing he’s back!What I love about March and her writing is how she pulls you right into the story. I love how descriptive NOLA is, I’ve never been, but her details paint such a vivid picture you would think you were there.Although Magnolia is fierce, I loved the power between her and Moses. Moses is equally as strong and I enjoyed the push a pull between them and how determined Moses was to win her back no matter how she tried to push him away, he was all alpha and all in to win back her trust.The story has a good mixture of mystery and suspense with what has to come, with great characters and cameos by Mount and Keira, which I loved! There are a few time jumps to when Moses and Magnolia initially met and I liked getting into their back story. This is a duet and March famous for her cliffhangers leaves us hanging in her true jaw-dropping ways and can’t wait to find out what’s next after Mount stirred that pot!

As always Meghan March is the best!!! MUST READ FOR SURE EVERYONE !!! Fabulous characters that you just can't get unough of with every page you will turn!! Can't put down this book for sure!! Hope To get a HEA for Mags !! Waitin for the next book of the series !! Thanks so much Meghan 😘

MOSES BUFORD GASPARD literally had me beside myself because his redemption isn’t even complete—not with the bomb MM dropped on readers at the end of Creole Kingpin—but seriously, that man had me wanting to get on my very knees and pay homage. And as flipping much as I liked Moses, I have to say, he does even hold a candle to Magnolia—Mags—for me. She’s one heck of a woman, literally. Backbone for days and likely one of the feistiest, take charge, kick-butt women MM has penned to date! And if you’ve read a single MM book, you know that she doesn’t write weak women! Also, the girl has a mouth on her that rivals my own, which was also an awe-inspiring moment for me. 😉 I LOVED this story—loved really isn’t even a strong enough word choice here but it’s literally all I’ve got. Creole Kingpin is an epic fast-paced, slow-burn romance that will have you turning pages after page at lightning speed. Still, when you get to the end, you’ll sit there as I’ve sat here for hours…stupefied and dying to read this one again. I can tell you with all certainty that I am positive this time around I am not going to be able to survive the wait for the Madam Temptress, book two in this duet, to hit my kindle. This time around, the anticipation alone is literally going to kill me. Do yourself a favor, read this book right now!!! Do not wait. Be ready to pick up Madam Temptress the second it hits your kindle like I plan on doing. FIVE EPIC STARS!!!

Feisty, independent Heroine! Check!Growly, determined Alpha Hero!! Double Check!!Unbelievably incredible second chance love story!!! Triple Check!!!Mag’s is feisty, independent and fiery AF but I always hoped deep down she would have the same hopes and dreams as other women. I love her strength, determination and drive to do whatever is necessary for herself and her girls to keep them safe and healthy. Although it is nice to see a softer, more vulnerable side to the sassy Magnolia Maria Maison.Moses I thought he would be a alpha you would love to hate, but he has wormed his way in and you can’t help but fall. He is growly, strong and determined AF and it is lovely to see Mags keeping him a little off balance and on his toes to keep her in line.So far I am loving this story and cannot wait for what will no doubt be an epic finale to this incredible duet.

I will always have a special spot in my heart for Meghan March - her Dirty Billionaire series and standalone book Bad Judgment were very pivotal in rekindling my love for romance AND they kickstarted my love for audiobooks (which I previously thought were NOT my jam and I couldn't be happier that I was SO wrong about that), so if you've been with me for a minute, you know the love runs deep. I'm always quick to preorder her books as soon as I can and I'm quick to read them ASAP (as opposed to letting them languish on my TBR shelf like I do with so many others). While I know that they're pretty much guaranteed to be a good time, I was blown away by how much FUN Creole Kingpin is! Now, don't get me wrong, this is not some light-hearted, rom com of a book - there's tension, lots of adult activities (like some serious chess-playing and bloodshed), and a delicious suspense/cat-and-mouse game happening - so it's not quite a picnic in the park. BUT, I COULD NOT PUT THE BOOK DOWN once I started. I might've sorta taken the day off to read it. That's how much it gripped me. Between Magnolia's desire to claim a new life and the threat against her, to Moses' quest to claim his woman (swoon) and the mystery behind what Mount (OMG MOUNT!!!) is pressuring him to confess to Magnolia, to the psycho running loose - this was just... a delightfully fun read and I CAN NOT WAIT for Madam Temptress. SN: As I do, I went back and forth between reading with my eyes and my ears. Joe Arden did the damn thing (as usual) - he delivered such a sexy, Creole-spiced voice for Moses, as well as giving distinct voices to the other characters depicted in his chapters. And Erin Mallon is one of my OG favorite narrators, but while she did an excellent job overall voicing Magnolia, her twang didn't come off as naturally and seemed to fluctuate from an attempt at a bayou tinged accent, to something more Texan, to a more general southern twang, but I respect the effort. Anywho, give me all the Meghan March and that subtle cliffy slayed me and can it be it be April 14th already because my body is so ready for Madam Temptress! 4.5 out of 5 wine glasses.

Creole Kingpin is the story we’ve been waiting for and WOW did it deliver!!Creole Kingpin takes us back to New Orleans and the world of our favourite Ruthless King, but this time we’re getting Magnolia and her anti-hero’s story! Magnolia is an incredible character, she knows what she wants and she’ll make sure she always gets it through whatever means necessary. I loved that Magnolia was always true to herself, independent and fiercely unapologetic for being who she was. Magnolia is the heroine we need in 2020! Moses Gaspard was not the anti hero I expected for Magnolia after reading about him in The Legend Trilogy but he was EXACTLY what Magnolia needed! He was smooth, an alpha at heart and said ALL the right things to get my heart swooning! This was a fantastic start to Magnolia’s duet, it had everything, suspense, lies and Meghan March’s trademark sexual chemistry! As always her stories have fantastic character development that always falls in perfect with the plot. And those sneak peeks of Daddy Mount and Kiera! ALL THE HEART EYES!I am all kinds of DESPERATE for Madam Temptress!! This ending is going to be EPIC.
