This journal is so powerful!
I'm so excited to start using The Self-Care Prescription Journal! I already have The Self-Care Prescription and I am rereading it with this awesome companion journal! I was lucky enough to be provided with an advance review copy, then before it was even available for sale, I also ordered a copy to gift to a friend! One of the things that really stands out to me is how much it helps to work on not just my 'life overall'; but actually thinking about the different parts of my life and what I need in each one. When looking at the "six domains of wellness: social, physical, intellectual, vocational, spiritual, and emotional" it makes so much sense that I need different things and have different goals in each part of my life. Each domain is important and needs to be actively worked on.I feel like The Self-Care Prescription and The Self-Care Prescription Journal are helping me to achieve balance on my self-care journey because they don't just help me work on one thing in my life; but, rather help me work on all the parts of my life and creating true balance and harmony between them.I'm especially excited to dig into this journal because I think journaling can be so effective and helpful; but, a lot of the time I still struggle to get started. The prompts are so helpful for getting started; but, more than that, they really help me to think deeply about what I'm feeling now, where I want to be, and how I can take action to get there!

Disappointed
I ordered this and was looking forward into delving into it. However the first few prompts, while putting responsibility on self, made me feel like I had not done enough to make positive changes and were not applicable. If you want to focus on others first, instead of household, and mold yourself to "show up"for others this book is for you.

Relatable and useful tool for self assessment & improvement
This journal helps to promote a more mindful attitude towards key areas of life. The primary self-care topics addressed are social, physical, intellectual, vocational, spiritual and emotional. Each topic begins with an introductory page describing the importance of that specific life area followed by prompts for written exercises. These exercises are designed to identify the current state of a particular topic, any desired or necessary changes required and help form plans to make those changes come to fruition. The journaling covers a diverse range of topics and helps uncover many things we tend to take for granted and don’t show the proper appreciation. It is visually appealing and the splashes of watercolor create a relaxed, peaceful tone. The material is accessible to anyone. For example, the spiritual section doesn’t focus on religion because that is only one of many aspects of spiritual nourishment and growth. Instead, it focuses on our inner selves and what makes is tick. The reader writes out what they believe and fee spiritually, which can mean many different things for different groups or individuals. The prompts approach spirituality with a completely open mindset that religious and non-religious alike will find interesting and helpful. There is plenty of writing space for each prompt and writing out the responses can be quite therapeutic and even relaxing. When we are 100% honest with ourselves and free of delusion, we are at our best and most effective. That is what makes this journal a valuable self-assessment and improvement tool.

Impressive journal
I am just starting to delve into this journal, but already, I am so impressed. This journal covers every aspect of self-care, and I love how there is an explanation about self-care and then each chapter explores the reasoning for why that particular aspect of self-care is so necessary. Like a lot of women, I grew up learning to care for others before myself, but I also experienced a lot of trauma where there was a particularly toxic element of placing my needs last, so I am especially bad at even thinking about caring for myself. Plus, I’ll admit that in a lot of situations, I just plain don’t understand how to care for myself in constructive ways. This journal explains and explores how to engage in all aspects of self-care, even aspects that I have never considered. The chapters are: Social Self-Care, Physical Self-Care, Intellectual Self-Care, Vocational Self-Care, Spiritual Self-Care, and Emotional Self-Care. So, as you can see, self-care is much more than just taking a bubble bath or buying yourself a treat! I’m already enjoying this journal, and I think it’s a must have for me, and for most women, if not most people out there. We as a society need to learn to engage in more self-care so we can be healthy enough for the other people in our lives. This journal teaches how to engage in self-care in constructive ways. Highly recommend.
