Waykar 2,000 Sq. Ft Dehumidifier for Home and Basement with Drain Hose and Reusable Air Filter - Ideal For Large and Medium Sized Rooms, Bathrooms

We got this to deal with a consistent humidity issue in one room of our home. Over the few months we've had the unit, it's worked well - dropping the humidity from the mid to high 60% range down to a consistent 40% to 45% while filling the catch tank about once a day.It's quiet enough for day time use without issue, but the sound is noticeable at night when we're sleeping. It's not loud, but you do hear it start and stop from time to time and the drone is a bit more than I like to sleep with. Still, it does a good job and keeps the room at a nice humidity.The catch tank is reasonably easy to pull out to empty, but does take some care to not spill. There is a removable lid on the top of the tank which helps but there's no really convenient way to carry the tank. While there is a continuous drain hose I've never had opportunity to use it.For the price, it's been great. No complaints. We're using it in a master bedroom space covering about 400 square feet, and taking a shower can raise the humidity substantially. This unit's been able to lower the humidity back down quickly and has kept the walk-in closet dry as well.

I purchased this after moving from a mold infested place, This air purifier was working overtime for months clearing all the mold spore from mold that was growing on multiple items in my new place. I had mold testing done in my new place and there were a total of 3 mold spores found, which is incredible! This basically sterilized the air and removed the mold spores. It was so great that I purchased one for my parents so their air could be purified as well. It can get noisy when it senses larger particles or smells. but I don't mind since i know it is purifying the air. Once it has gotten rid of the large particles or smell, it quiets down again. The first few weeks it was running on full speed, but after that it has been pretty quiet unless i am cooking. I also love that the filters are washable. They are easy to clean and the machine has a light when filters need to be cleaned so I don't have to track and try to remember how often to clean them. I recommend this air purifier to everyone!

I don't normally write reviews of products, but this situation merits one. It would be a 5 star review except for a small detail!Overall, we are very happy with this dehumidifier. It is quite small, and does a great job dehumidifying the finished basement, and is the most quiet one we have ever had. The holding tank for the water collected is also quite small, though (0.6 gal). It would need to be emptied twice a day if you can't attach a hose and run it to a nearby drain. The only criticism is the product info says it accepts a standard garden hose for a drain hose. That is completely wrong. The very short tube included that fits it didn't work in our situation. We had to buy a length of plastic tubing to fit it to reach the drain. It will be interesting to see if it lasts longer than 12-18 months, like our last two dehumidifiers.

The customer support is spot on. I had a question about my PD08 model, they replied the next day with a detailed instruction video.

Unfortunately at first I received a defective dehumidifier. However, I reached out to the Waykar support team, and they addressed my issue quickly. They sent me a replacement dehumidifier free of charge and I am happy with my experience. The dehumidifier is quiet and it is great for a compact space, especially with the automatic drain hose where you do not have to replace the bucket every time it fills up. I’ve enjoyed my experience.

I have a couple of the Waykar PD160B units and they have worked very well / done the job nicely in the house and on a boat to keep things nice and dry. Just purchased the new 2024 energy star PD160B-PRO, which is a significant update to the older PD160B units. It still does the same great job and is a workhorse, but the new unit has a few very nice features. These features include:1) It is Energy Star compliant so in the long run I will be saving $2) It is much quieter, particularly on the low fan setting3) It is considerably smaller than the older PD160B (see pictures)4) They have changed the discharge method – instead of using a plug to direct the water flow from the internal tank to a hose discharge (meaning you had to use their special hose), now they have a fitting there so you can just unscrew it and either use their hose, or create your own screw in fitting with a custom hose (I prefer smooth plastic tubing since it does not seem to get as moldy). The discharge hose provided is also considerably larger in diameter which may help reduce mold.5) Even though it is smaller, it seems to do the same job as its older model.Overall it is a much better unit.
