Spring is arriving..
Again I visited Bunnington, Oxfordshire and enjoyed the company of Poppy and her friends. As Poppy tries hard to get her seedlings and plug plants ready for spring sales, it's obvious she still hasn't gotten the hang of gardening. There also seems to be a sex pervert, according to Mrs. Busselton, stealing women's bras from the washing line. And when her neighbor and author, Nick Forrest, is accused and then the murder of a young woman happens Poppy wants to find the culprit. Are the 2 crimes committed by the same person? Or does Bunnington have 2 have 2 master criminals roaming the streets?Of course Bertie has a cure for Poppy's plants but with Bertie's inventions is it safe to try?I have to admit I missed Oren and Einstein not being as prominent as usual but it didn't take away from the story.

The best yet
I’ve loved this series since its introduction, and the 5th doesn’t fail to entertain. I for one, think the plotting is much richer and more detailed than in previous stories. When Mary Lancaster died, granddaughter Poppy inherited Hollyhock Cottage Gardens and Nursery, but things aren’t going well for Poppy and the nursery.Feline neighbor Oren is rebelling against his weight reduction diet in a most interesting fashion. And then, of course there is Oren’s ‘human’, Nick Forest, the extremely sexy crime author, and next-door neighbor.Dr. Ralph Seymour’s sexy young receptionist is found murdered in his office. Days later his wife goes missing, then she turns up dead.Bertie, (Dr. Nobel) may actually have developed a new invention, that isn't going to blow up or set fire to anything.Have fun reading this. I did.

Guest the murderer if you can
Poppy is having her normal growing pains learning how to run a garden nursery. When she goes to the GP for an infected scratch, she overhears all the gossip surrounding the GP, his office manager, and his wife. When she goes back the next day as she lost her locket, she finds the body of the office manager and a very distressed doctor.Of course, through no fault of her own, she gets involved in the investigation when her author neighbor is arrested for the crime.Another good story from Miss Hanna with developed characters, a bit of humor, and a good bit of misdirection.I had fun putting my abilities against the characters in the book, and found myself surprised when the murderer was revealed.

Murder and kleptomania
Two women close to the local doctor are killed just a few days apart. Is he the murderer? Is the killer the one stealing bras?

Four-footed Kleptomaniac
It’s a crime wave in Bunnington! Someone is stealing ladies’ unmentionables from the clotheslines! Is it some voyeur? But then two ladies are murdered & all wonder if there’s a connection! The rumors & accusations fly! Poppy sets out to find the truth with the help of Bertie & Oren! All the while Poppy despairs over her nursery’s lack of success. Bertie saves the nursery & Oren solves the mysteries! Four-footed kleptomaniac as he is, Oren puts the killer while carrying out a one cat crime spree! I love these characters & anxiously await the next book!

Another murder
I felt really said at the end, I thought Nick was interested in poppy.I get it was his ex's birthday but feels like they are back together I was gutted for her. I was left feeling really confused.I thought it was a slow burn romance but with the ex around all the time it's not happening and this is the second time he has taken the ex out? Mixed messages.I understand you can still be friendly with a ex but there is a line? If not with him then when is poppy going to meet a nice man? There don't seem to be any around everyone is her dad's age apart from nick.

H. Y. Hanna - the best cosy murder mystery writer
If you've read the Oxford Tea-Rooms mysteries by H. Y. Hanna, you may be forgiven for thinking that another series just couldn't be as good. This series is. The English Cottage Garden series started well, and keeps getting better! This one is brilliant (well, they all are, but I enjoyed this one even more). As usual, I guessed the murderer early on in the story - until that person was murdered! As I read on, I kept thinking "It's got to be ....." but it never was. Great story, great writing, great series - again.
