When we first opened this lamp, I was surprised by the size because I expected it would be smaller. The arm is about 13 inches tall, extends out about 15 inches, and is one and three-quarter inches wide. Overall, it is a nice size and lights up a large area. Once we got the lamp assembled on the base, I was very impressed by the functionality and flexibility it affords. You can turn the lamp arm on the base a complete 180 degrees, you can angle the actual light section by 90 degrees to the side, and you can flip the entire light section downward to almost a 45 angle and backward to a 180 degree angle. Amazing. Since it's so well balanced and not very thick in size, it's also easy to move it to a different room or space.The on/off switch for the light is touch controlled, and if you leave your finger on the control for a couple of seconds the same switch works to dim and brighten the light. Since it's LED it can go from very dark to very light. The base is an eight-inch circle made of heavy metal that keeps the light balanced and secure. On the bottom of the base, there is a 1/2 inch strip of foam to protect your furniture. The lamp is a plug-in type, and the plug port is at the bottom back of the lamp.I got this lamp because I am a crafter and I want a bright light when I work, especially on small details. My husband, however, would like a softer light to relax with when he settles down in the evening. Since we don't really want to live in separate rooms all the time, this light gives us the flexibility to keep us both happy in the same space! He ignored his waiting dinner, choosing instead to put this together, which was quick and easy, and then plugging it in.First, it bends, so you can set it straight up, or at an angle of your choosing. The second neat feature is the easy on, easy off switch. Just tap the silver button and it turns on or off. The LED lights are quite bright and they can be dimmed as well by simply holding your finger down on the silver switch.Lastly there is a USB charging port on the side. Odd, but cool and rather handy as it will soon be sitting near the couch where we can draw without having to have the overhead light on. Saves power, gives good light, I'm really not seeing a downside here.The price, if I had to pay it fully, would probably have given me pause. I haven't purchased any lights recently, so I have no price comparisons for it. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product!

This is a great little lamp that can be dimmed to fit your lighting needs. It has a USB plug, so it can plug into the wall or your computer. The neck is fully adjustable which is really nice for reading or crafting. It also has a USB PORT on it, so you can charge your phone on the nightstand! I LOVE THAT!
