Where do I start? I have a number of issues with this ax. The first is the handle diameter is huge. I have big hands, XXL gloves and I found the handle diameter to be uncomfortably big...The foot was cut funny. See picture above. The grain was off. Hard to see in the picture because you can mainly see the saw marks but it is about 90° off. On a positive note the handle and head are fit up nicely. The head seems of good quality handmade. I had the chance to take it out in the woods along with about a half dozen others. It's hard to describe what is wrong with it but it just does not feel right with the oversized handle and a relatively very light head. Also the German style bit is flat and long. Doesn't bite well into the wood. Doesn't throw chips well. I compared it head to head to a council tool boys ax that easily outperformed it in every regard and was just much more pleasant to use and by the way cost half as much. Maybe I'm just not used to the style but I think there are better options available. Husqvarna, hultsbrook, hultafors to name a few...For the $130 that this ax cost, you could do a lot better...
