Hi, is the backside of the item sticky? So does it act like tape? Thanks

Yes, backside is sticky - It's like thick double sided tape - has a peel off backing so it will stick to anything - once in place you just trim it to fit with scissors and away you go. It's really good, definitely non-slip - almost like very fine sand paper - I would definitely recommend it, I've been really pleased with it, bought it several times. Hope that helps.
