It fits through the molded stabilizing holes in my kayak so I can lock it to keep someone from walking away easy with it. It's one of those things people say "keeps honest people from stealing it". That's all I needed, just something to be troublesome since I have 4 cameras outside.

It's much thinner than I anticipated. I use it for outdoor furniture so it doesn't get stolen off our patio at night... Even though nothing has been stolen, it looks pretty easy to cut through.
