CURLSMITH – Shape Up Aqua Gel, Lightweight Styling Gel with Proteins for Damaged Hair (8 fl oz)

I am very new to the curly girl hair club, and just found out that my frizzy, poofy, straight hair that doesn't seem to straighten very well anymore is actually wavy! It started changing after the birth of my second son 23 years ago and then when menopause started a number of years ago, I just thought my hair was bad all of a sudden because of Hormones. No! Over the past few months I've been watching so many YouTube videos and found that the Curlsmith brand works very well: no sulfates, silicones, parabens and they are also hydrating and light on my 2a waves. I gave this one to try the other day and loved the cast that it gave my hair without making it look oily after I crunched it out. I decided to go ahead and purchase a lot of their other products because so far, this one has exceeded the performance of others that I've tried. I'm still on such a huge learning curve with how to manage/style these waves while having them look natural and this product definitely helps! I'm looking forward to more bouncy waves as my hair repairs and strengthens.

I was not sold on the Curl Smith line as there were just too many to choose from and it seemed overwhelming. I gave it a try after doing research and decided on the Strength line. I purchased the shampoo, volume foam, aqua gel, and miracle shield. So far, I'm loving it. I apply the products by doing foam, gel, and then foam again. I'm seeing good results this way. The gel is watery, hence the name. I thought at first I received a contaminate product, before I actual read how the consistency would be. A little goes a long way. As I've come to realize with curly hair, less is more. Using a heavy gel, especially on fine hair, will weigh it down and cause the curls to not be as defined. This is just all part of the curl journey when embracing curls. I will continue using this product for a few months to see if it truly strengthens my hair. Right now, I can only review how it's styling it.

It’s a great gel product for curls

With 3B curls it’s a constant battle to find good products. I’ve tried countless drugstore brands with varying degrees of success but not enough to get me to buy again. I saw this gel on a YT video and I’m sold! Massive slip, it can be built up for extra hold, good scent, good crunch. No need for me to look again.

Great product. Doesn’t leave hair sticky. Smells nice. Maintains moisture. Holds curls.

Hated w 1st use. 2nd time was better. I have high porosity hair so tried the sopping wet hair application 1st time. 2nd time did slight towel dried hair & liked the results better. I used a leave in and the accompanying cream followed by gel,.in that order. I also diffused less time and just used a regular hair dryer for my roots which aided in adding volume. 1st time I diffused for 20+ minutes and had the curls but flat if that makes sense. The seller/shipper did not safety wrap it so I good amount leaked out

2nd time I bought this and same as the first the bottle was entirely wet lost a 1/4 of the product. The top was loose this time, last time the top was smashed in top was pushed open so it leaked, only received half a bottle that time. I'm tired of paying 30 dollars for something and not getting the full bottle THE PRODUCT ITSELF IS AMAZING

Ich nutze das Curlsmith Shape Up Aqua Gel seit einiger Zeit und bin sehr zufrieden. Es ist leicht, klebt nicht und gibt den Haaren guten Halt und Glanz, ohne sie zu beschweren. Besonders für geschädigtes oder feines Haar ist es ideal. Der Duft ist angenehm, und das Ergebnis sieht natürlich und gepflegt aus.

This is a great addition to my curly routine, I need to use it alongside another gel, but this helps my hair when the weather is humid or damp outside. I will definitely buy again.

I love curlsmith and this is a very good product if you don't want much hold or want to mix it with a harder hold gel or mousse/foam. Or even for refreshing days.

Ich habe zwar relativ starke Locken, aber ziemlich feines Haar. Meine Locken hängen ohne Pflegeprodukte daher immer recht schnell aus. Mit diesem Produkt ist dies anders. Ein Wunder kann ich davon nicht erwarten; dazu bin ich nicht genug in dem Lockenpflege-Game. Dennoch halten die Locken deutlich länger und sind nicht ab Tag 2 nach der Haarwäsche direkt ausgehangen und das reicht mir persönlich vollkommen aus. Wer auch sonst seine Locken entsprechend pflegt, wird mit diesem Produkt sehr zufrieden sein

Ist leicht in der Anwendung und Verarbeitung. Lässt sich super einarbeiten und verteilen - keine gelklumpen beim trocknen.
