Nice quality and good pigment.
Nice quality, highly recommended. The colors are vibrant; despite being pastels, they have very good pigment. I really enjoy the colors; they are very lovely. In my honest opinion, I would have preferred another color instead of having two pinks (lemonade and rose). In other comments, I read that you might feel these are chalky on paper, but here's the thing: the unique property of watercolor is its transparency. To create pastel colors, you need to add white gouache, so you might find these watercolors (and any other pastel watercolors) somewhat opaque. However, the same half pan is very sticky. P.S. I bought this in October 2020.

Love your paints!
I don't have one box of paints from your company that I have not adored. Great pigmentation!

Sweet colors
Overall I'm pretty happy with these watercolors, the colors are great, they mix pretty nicely and lay down with a little more opacity than some other watercolors I've tried, and I especially like the pink/peach, yellows and light blue color. That being said I still struggle to make any colors I like with the browns provided, and at times the colors can feel a little grainy, which some people like, but I am not a big fan of. The little carrying tin was a bonus for me because I'd never had an open concept one like that before where I could tetris in 20 half pans. That being said, I feel like the pricing is a little on the high side when you take into account the fact that some of the sets have one or two colors from a different set repeated. It's fine if you just really like that color, otherwise its kind of a waste to have multiples of something that's not going to get used, so I strongly urge you compare the different palettes to find which will give YOU the most value. I have considered buying other palettes, and may still in the future, but for the time being I'm good with just the pastel set.

In love!
I am absolutely in LOVE with these watercolors. A lot of people were trying to tell me that pastel watercolors are pointless because you can just dilute a regular color with more water but I have found that it doesn't give the same effect as this palette. I also bought the classics by Prima and made my own palette by fitting in more pans! I could fit all of the pans from the classics in with the pastel dreams pans except 3! (I left out a couple browns and one blue) An extra pan can fit in the top and bottom columns and a whole row can fit in between them. I even still have room at the top for a tiny watercolor brush! Now I have a whole extra tin that I can fill with any watercolors I want but I don't think I'll be using any others for a while. I'm not a professional but I do paint a lot and the watercolors are very nice quality and are super pigmented! I love them to death. If you are hesitating, just don't. Even if you don't like the watercolors, the tin itself is worth more than the price.

Most pastel colors nice, but they consider brown pastel?
This is my first puchase of Prima's Watercolors. I love most of the pastel colors in this set, but for the life of me i can't figure out why they put two brown colors in it. Brown is a pastel color? Really? It is nice for a travel case, as it has a metal ring on the outside that can be used to attach or carry. It does have the pre-printed swatch card that all one needs to do is transfer some color to it, so that's a nice touch. There are a few mixing pans. No brush came with it, so be aware of that if you're expecting a brush. The color pans are very small, I believe someone in another review said they were 1/2 the size of a normal one. As I'm new to watercolors, this may or may not be an issue for me. I also ordered their Tropical set, and again there were a couple of colors in it that didn't really strike me as being tropical, or at least the name didn't really match the color (ie., coconut). I purchased a set of Mozart watercolors, and if you're looking for a broader set of very nice colors, I'd suggest you look into Mozart, unless of course you specifically want pastel colors. Mozart colors are very nice, vibrant colors and come in a nice carrying case, although not as small as this one.

Very pretty colors! I love it!
I have all of the Prima watercolor sets, and I absolutely love the colors in this set! I've thought that the colors are beautiful and lovely, and speaking from experience with watercolors, pastel colors (in any paint set) are normally more chalkier than other colors, especially because these are not meant to be true pigmented colors. That's why you don't see a lot of watercolor sets include pastel tones, and you will normally only see these kind of colors included in cheaper watercolor sets. Professional brands of watercolor sets (Schmincke, Sennelier, Winsor Newton, etc) may have pastel tones available as well, either sold separately or in a larger set, but again in my own experience, pastel tones have always been known to be more chalkier and grittier than any of the other true pigmented colors. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't blame Prima for this set appearing to be chalkier than the others because that's just the way it is for pastel tones and it's quite natural for it to be that way.Putting that aside, I am definitely happy with my purchase and I am having a lot of fun painting with this set, and I am doing my own sort of "pastel color challenge," that I normally see on Youtube and Instagram these days, haha!
