I think it works? Barely got bit in Paris
I was in Paris during the Olympics and those European mosquitos love the fatty American blood!I'm also allergic to their bites and the bites get so much worse on me compared to a regular person. It turns into a big fat welt and causes hyperpigmentation.I reapplied this thing as frequently as I could! It smells so good too so I didn't mind at all. My coworkers even asked me what perfume I was wearing and I was telling them it wasn't perfume, but mosquitos repellent lolI didn't just use this though. I also used Brooke's mosquito repellent soap bar and it smells so good and I think the combo of a body soap with citronella and this really worked!I was out and about during the Olympics and it was hot and humid and full of mosquitoes and bugs so this will be my go to combo whenever I am out

I can't believe it works, but it does!!!!
I live in the South and I am a magnet for mosquitoes and no-see-ums. Unfortunately, I really dislike using chemical repellents. I came across this product while poring through articles about natural insect repellents. Even though I am always sure they won't work, I keep trying them anyway because I'm always hopeful that I'll eventually find THE ONE that will work.I took a gamble and ordered this and it has turned out to be THE ONE. I wish I had found it years ago. It really keeps the mosquitoes and no-see-ums from biting me. I like the easy to tote sticks that it comes in and I also have the small tin pot of it as well. The fragrance is a little strong, which is not surprising considering that the ingredients are Castor Oil, Lemongrass Oil, Rosemary Oil, Cedarwood Oil, and Peppermint Oil, which are all pretty heady scents on their own. I get used to the scent pretty quickly, but to be honest, the scent doesn't matter as long as it works. And it does work. One night I heard a mosquito buzzing around and I grabbed the stick out of my nightstand, applied it, and went back to sleep without the mosquito coming back.I'm so happy that I no longer have to douse myself in chemicals in order to keep bugs away! I love this product.

Works for mosquitoes
This is really good at keeping mosquitoes away. However ...bees seem to love it. Not stop bees landing all over me at the lake and would not leave me alone. I recommend using only at night since bees won't be out

Ok but smaller than expected, waste of plastic pkg for the landfill
Smells OK. Seems to work keeping mosquitoes off my ankles in my house. But the 3 pack size is super small and will get used up fast in such small product volume in each little stick form. A waste of plastic land fill. I would never buy this size again

Travel friendly and highly effective!
I am truly delicious (to mosquitoes and black flies) and had heard that midges can be pretty bad in Scotland. Flying meant I needed something solid, if possible, so I got some deet-filled, standard bug-spray type wipes and the Murphy's Mosquito Balm Stick (2-pack). We were mostly fine until we went to the Fairy Pools (beautiful! go!). The moment we exited our vehicle we were swarmed like I've never been before! Into our eyes, ears, nose, biting every square inch of exposed skin. I scrambled into my day-bag for something, anything to help and grabbed this stuff. I ended up trapping more than a few bugs as I smeared it on, but we were instantly distasteful and the midges left us entirely alone. It was extraordinary! I shared it with many of our travel mates, too. Application is super easy and means no greasy fingers.

Tested in Deep Woods Florida Swamps
I do a lot of deep woods walking / hiking in central Florida swampy areas, and this works great!I don't use chemical aerosols as I really dislike the fumes. Deet sort of spritzes provided the best solution for years. Even with those, I felt myself racing for a shower when I got home as the smell annoys me. Also, while mosquitoes generally would not land, they'd still buzz me constantly which is almost as annoying. With the Murphy's balm, I seem almost invisible to mosquitoes. I've tested on multiple hikes including deep woods in a swampy area. I even see mosquitoes, but they simply don't bother with me. I use it on my arms, neck, face and ears without the irritating odor.I personally love the smell. For me, it's practically an aromatherapy and gets me going but tastes there may vary. Reading the ingredients will give you a very strong idea of the scent, but I imagine nearly everyone will either not mind it or even enjoy it.There's no trade-off with the chemical sprays. I typically figure the natural stuff is more pleasant but Deet stuff will work better. That is not the case here. It works better than the chemicals for me and in relatively extreme, woodsy-swampy rural environments.

Really worked great in Alaska
I purchased this because it was not a liquid and my granddaughter was going to be flying to Alaska. If you have been to Alaska, you know how many mosquitos there are so I wanted to have something in her suitcase. This worked great! In fact, the other campers were asking to use hers because this was so much better than what they brought. I also gave one to my other granddaughter who was a camp leader at another camp and she told me this worked great for her too.
