worked perfect the first day(like new again), but after a day i already had to tighten my handle for it to seal. Then after two weeks it kept it's flatness and was basically the way my 4 year old door gasket was, and leaked just as bad as before.Removal was easy, because the cement they provide dries very hard. So chipping it out was easy compared to the silicone based sealer that was on the door before.I picked up another door gasket(different brand but still made in the USA) from a LHS and it feels much more robust. Where the midwest gasket felt like a very airy marshmellow when squished, the new one was more like a thick piece of bread. There was also a lot less stray fiberglass strands. The adhesive was also not impossible to get out of the new brand's tube.I'm not sure why this brand works for some people and not others, but I wouldn't buy again for my stove.

I've removed and installed gaskets on several woodstoves regularly for over 40 years and am well familiar with this type adhesive. The tube included with this kit was factory sealed but had a consistency that hardly could be pushed out the tip though I cut it back three times and kneaded the tube well before opening. I'd already removed the old gasket and cleaned the channel, we needed the stove to burn as our primary heat source. The result was an unnecessary messy gasket installation that will have to be redone before too long. Sent the remainder back for a refund and will use a different manufacturer's adhesive from now on.

Are used this product for my Lopi wood-burning stove. I followed the directions exactly. Installation was pretty straightforward but it’s definitely worth your time to watch a couple of YouTube videos first. It fit perfectly and worked very well. However I am reviewing this after using it for a couple of months now and after about a month of use it had shrunk so much that it was no longer acting as a seal because it was so much smaller than it had been originally. This was after such a small amount of usage. Very disappointing.

I have replaced the gasket on my wood burning fireplace a few times, and have had minor issues with adhesion. This time I followed the instructions step by step and then some. I used a scraper to remove the old gasket and most of the old adhesive. Next I used a wire wheel and a cordless drill to do most of the cleanup. Some areas required additional scraping and a little sanding to make sure the gasket channel was down to clean, bare metal. I used the included adhesive and pressed the gasket rope firmly into the channel. As an added measure, I secured the rope with painters tape and let it set for over an hour to air dry. When I gently removed the painters tape, i did not see any lifting or loss of adhesion. I installed the doors and built a small fire, gradually building it up to the required 500 degrees. It all looks good and I am hoping for several years of reliable service.

The rope is very good quality and so is the adhesive. You need to definitely have a second person help you if you do not plan on removing the door as it is a heavy rope and gravity works against you. I can not remove my door so I got help holding it in the channels as I worked it around. The rope is very east to work with. Once I had it in I could feel the adhesive starting to set which was nice. I closed the door tight and let it set overnight. Came out great and my stove runs better and the glass has been cleaner. Much better than before. I would buy again and might even have enough from the package to do it a second time if needed.

Had no problem or issues installing and the seal on the stove door is nice and snug. I did take the time to prepare everything ahead of the actual install, including stripping the old adhesive off the door, kneading the adhesive, cutting the gasket to length, and making sure the gasket was not twisted.

I was very pleased with how easy this was to apply, and how well it adhered almost immediately. Do take the time to remove all of the old gasket, clean up the stove door surface as prescribed, and knead the tube before use. I also cut the tube tip just like the markings on it suggest. Works like a charm after that! I'm buying again for another stove in the house....good stuff!

Product came in at about half the price of the brand I normally get. Looks like the same exact thing. It was long enough that I'll be able to regasket the door again if I need to. Seals nice and tight. My tube of cement was still good. I used less than half the tube so I'm sure by next year it will be junk but for what i paid for the kit buying another tube of glue still wouldn't put over the cost of the other rand i used to buy. Over all very happy with this product
