Fly Furniture Spool Safe Holds 72 Spools of Fly Tying Thread

One of my concerns when ordering was how solid the construction would be… but fortunately, I was not disappointed. It is well built. For those of you wondering, the tall spool stand pictured behind it holds 120 spools and was purchased locally for about $20 from one of the big box craft stores. If I compare the two, I still prefer the 72-spool safe from Wapsi over the higher-capacity stand for the following reasons: 1. Durability - the tower is constructed of very soft, thin wood, and I worry if I bang it while moving around that dowels would snap or other parts would break. I have no concerns about the Wapsi spool safe breaking unless I drop it on a hard floor (as with any wood object like that). 2. Footprint - Wapsi safe requires about half the desk space and takes up much less wall space. Well, it’s true, the smaller capacity isn’t enough to hold every spool I have, I would rather just get a second wapsi safe for the other reasons listed here. 3. “Holding power” - The thread tower has an adjustable back “leg” bar to keep it upright and adjust the angle. It be easy for that to accidentally collapsed or for me to otherwise bump things and spill the threads everywhere. There’s no chance of that happening with wapsi safe. 4. No loose threads unwinding / “cat-proof” - As you can imagine, the thread tower leaves the risk of threads unwinding if I’m not careful to securely bind them when putting them back… Even then, sometimes a thread slips out as I’m sure you’ve experienced. And, I have a cat and sooner or later I’ll forget to close my office door and I’m sure she’ll reach havoc on the thread tower. Whereas, the transparent plastic around the thread safe Means loose threads won’t go anywhere And, at worst, Kitty would only be able to access the exposed row at any given time. *Note to the seller:* this thing is great, my only ask is that you make a larger version :) for example, 12 rows of 10 each, or 15 rows of 8 each for 120 total spools!

Product is ok. Far to small for modern thread spools.

Bought for my fiance. He has a love for tying his own flys. Accurate description. He loves it. Love the wood furniture.

All of my spools are too big. So far I have not found a spool small enough to fit into the spool compartment. It's perty much useless.
