Favorite Book In The Series!
I'm A Kindle Unlimited member so I borrowed book one in this series for free, but before I could read it book two went on a great sale. Since it's not KU and was a good price I bought it. I was dreading my purchase when I slogged through book one which was unusually preachy and missing author Regina Jennings trademark humor.I started book two with more than a little fear that I had wasted my money and was going to waste my time. I enjoyed the book so much I read it in two days and spent both days laughing out loud. The humor was back and in a big way. This book absolutely can stand alone, but like most book series it's better if you read them in order. However, since I just told you how monstrously dull book one was, I can assure you that book two tells you everything you need to know to follow along with ease.If you're undecided I'd suggest you get this book if you like clever banter, laugh out loud situations, and watching a couple who marry for practical purposes fall in love. Two hearty thumbs up.

Starts slow but enjoyable
The book starts off kind of slow. Took a while for me to enjoy the characters but after the 4th chapter, the story becomes engrossing. The characters are immersed in their own plights that it takes them awhile to notice their mutual attraction. Maisie and Boone, however, are committed to their same goal of freedom from family expectations. I liked the workaholic Boone and the country bumkin Maisie. Many hilarious episodes but I truly loved the ending and their commitment to showcase their crystal find.

Full of hilarious dialogue!
This was in my local library and I had read the previous book in this series. I am so glad that I was able to finish it in a day because Regina Jennings kept my interest with Maisie and Boone’s marriage of convenience/business proposal. I can hardly wait to read the next one!

Girl seeking freedom
This was a fun book to read. Maisie was a joy to meet and need a lot of growing up. Boone a bit of a stuffed shirt meets the girl he needs. Maisie and Boone make a great couple who need each other to become the people they need to be. I liked learning about Joplin and the mining that took place there. I have enjoyed reading this eries so far and look forward to the next, Engaging Deception. I would recommend this series to young adult and older.

Engaging
Well written with engaging characters that had good and believable flaws to help the reader believe the story. So much fun it was read in just a few hours.
