The best solution to etch then rules in ones memory....

This is the best book I know for learning, and reviewing your 'Rule(s) of the road'. It does only have the international, and not any specifically USA 'rules', but since that works for most places I go, it's perfect!

Still one of the best ways to learn the Collision Regulations

Best explained version and format of teaching/learning COLREGS there is.....

I have been using various editions of this book since the 1970s. It is the best I've ever seen for an introduction to the Rules and it make an excellent refresher.

This book not only contains the rules but also detailed explanations developed in a logical progression to make learning easy. Contains numerous situational examples with questions and answers to assist in the learning process. I would recommend this book as a learning tool. From a publishing viewpoint the book is bound at best in a mediocre fashion - so some care must had in the handling of this book to avoid it from coming apart.

Nevermind the RYA book, or any other book for that matter, THIS is the book that will teach you colregs. It's "programmed", in that it's written in such a way that it almost requires no effort to remember the regs... you just read the book from left to right, answer the questions it asks (mostly in your head), and hey presto - you know colregs. Great buy.

If you are studying for your boating licenses this book is a useful tool. Easy to reference and illustrated well.
