Introductory Econometrics: A Modern Approach (Upper Level Economics Titles) 5th Edition

Wooldridge is a well-accepted excellent text. While it is not the latest edition it is still quite up to date and the discounted price on the latest edition makes it value for money. If you are a student make sure it is the recommended text since the course may follow examples and software in a different text - this text is usefully based on R, a comprehensive open source (free) econometric/statistical software. Otherwise you cannot go wrong.

I am an R language beginner. I was look for a suitable book to teach me how to use R in practical examples. This book exactly meets my need. I strongly recommend it to all R language beginners.

The only difference between this version and the U.S. one is that the end-of-chapter problems are sometimes rearranged or a select few are completely different.

I read three undergraduate textbooks on Econometrics, but in my opinion, this book is the best. Especially, the appendices is very helpful for understanding the concept properly. Those who intend to read the book, I recommend first reading the appendices very carefully, such as by solving all the questions. After that, you will be able to understand the content properly.

If you're looking for a good introduction to econometrics, this is the rigth book.

If you are looking to utilize regression to analyze data, then this book should get a deep look.Don't let the word "econometrics" fool you, this book is really almost all about regression.It doesn't have anything to do with economics other than analyzing some economic data.You will not learn, for example, supply/demand curve or MR/MC analysis.The book is very comprehensive and has wonderful examples and practice problems. I really liked the practice problems EXCEPT that the book provides no answers to them. Bummer, because I would given this book 4 stars just for that.So why only 3 stars? Minus one star for lack of answers to the great practice problems. Minus another star for fairly mediocre and often ambiguous explanations. The author seems to avoid making any concrete statements. For example, what does it mean for the X variables to have logs while the Y doesn't such as Y=b0+log(X)? It means for every PERCENTAGE change in X, it effects the Y (but not in percentage) in proportion to the b1. I couldn't find that explanation anywhere in the book. Instead, the author meanders and makes the reader make his/her own conclusions.Overall, this is a very solid book that still has a lot of room for improvement.Pros:1)Focuses on regression, which is rightfully the most useful statistical method in econometrics and data analytics.2)Awesome practice problems.3)Downloadable data in SAS, R, and CSV formats.Cons:1)No answers to the awesome practice problems. How is the reader suppose to know his/her analysis of the regression is correct?2)Mediocre and often vague explanations of the regression equation and output.

this is a great book for those who just steps into econometrics world. previous statistics, calculus and matrix knowledge would be a great help. but relevant contents appears in the appendix anyway. fast shipping

The proofs are in paragraph form. Seriously? Were you raised by wolves? Who does that!!!? Written by an economist for other economists. If you're new to the subject, this book is next to useless. I would recommend "Econometrics for Dummies". Waaaaay more helpful and easier to understand.

Good condition as I expected

Great book that gets you up to speed very quickly with clear explanations and examples. Would recommend if you don't mind density!

Nonostante le consegna stimata fosse per aprile inoltrato, il libro è arrivato a circa una settimana dall'ordine, ben impacchettato per evitare che si rovinasse. come si può vedere dalle foto il libro è in condizioni quasi perfette (tenendo conto che le foto sono state fatte oggi e che ci sto studiando già da una settimana e che quindi alla consegna ovviamente più nuovo) se non per un pò di crepe sul dorso della copertina. per il resto il libro è ben stampato seppur non a colori. Mi ritengo molto soddisfatta visto l'ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

The book does not have the same cover as the one advertised however, the content is identical. The book is in black and white which to me makes very little difference and overall is in great shape. Ideal for a text book for school and it arrived much quicker than I expected.

El libro lo recibí en cinco días. Es la versión correcta, pero la calidad del papel, de las cubiertas, la tinta y del engomado del libro son pésimas. Las hojas son tan finas que se transparenta el texto de la otra cara, y el texto está borroso en algunas secciones por la impresión defectuosa. No volveré a comprar libros de este proveedor.
