They seem painted and have a relatively smooth finish. The website says they're made of similar or as srong as OEM lug nuts so i'm giving these a 4 because for generic lugs, they weren't that cheap. I hope the quality lasts but we'll see, so far they look decent on my rims so i'm gving them 4 stars for now. If the paint starts chipping off, i'll take off accordingly.

Got tired of trying to get the wheel locks working on my 2013 Volkswagen Jetta. I replaced all of the lug bolts with these and so far I like them. No more black caps falling off is added bonus too

So far so good I've only put them on .only time will tell how long the finish holds up and how durable they are. I've put on one set and no chipping or anything whatsoever so time will tell but so far I can't rate it at 5 until a few months and few washes and we'll see how the finish is
