This was so easy to set up. I would fill the tank where you want to place it. It takes almost a gallon of distilled water and you literally fill it to the top. But WOW, in the daylight, they move and it's gracefully, pretty. At night with the lights in the take, incredible. They dance together, hug each other, it's romantic, it's playfully, it brings a calming peacefulness that you are mesmerized by. For both old and young alike, worth every cent!

At this point (just set it up) I am giving the unit 5 stars. It is quite expensive for a plastic tube with a motor and lights. But that being said I hope the added expense results in a quality motor and electronics. The unit was easy to set up. I used distilled water and 3 drops of Dawn Dishwashing Liquid. I turned the unit on and then submerged the jellyfish per the instructions. They went in perfectly and started their up and down swimming movement. The unit is next to silent. The lighting is beautiful. The jellyfish come to life with almost a 3D effect and glow beautiful colors. I’ll have to admit when I opened the box and looked at what I purchased I was skeptical. But once installed it becomes magical and very soothing to look at. As I said I am hoping the expense of this unit results in years of use. There are much cheaper units out there but I’m hoping the phrase “you get what you pay for” applies to this unit. Right out of the box it is perfect and when the water and jellyfish are added along with the lighting, the unit does not look cheap. The plastic tubing looks like glass once installed. I also like the fact that you can set the unit to automatically change colors or set it to one continuous color.UPDATEAfter a full year of use, and I mean turned on just about everyday for hours at a time the unit still functions as when it was new and out of the box. The pump is still silent and all lighting works properly. With this one you definitely get what you pay for.COMMENTI have read some of the negative reviews concerning the unit not working properly and breaking down quickly. Here are my thoughts: While it is possible to get a defective unit, I have found that proper setup and maintenance should avoid most of these problems. First, it is very important to use distilled water. Not spring water and especially not tap water. Use distilled (totally mineral free water). Second, After the water is installed and the pump is circulating add 3 drops of a clear (not creamy looking) dishwashing liquid. Be careful not to add any more because the water will look cloudy. The dishwashing liquid keeps the water very soft and acts as a kind of lubricant for the pump. Third, While the pump is circulating, gently submerge the fish, one at a time. They will immediately start dancing. I have occasionally had a tentacle get caught in the grid at the bottom. To free it just take a long fork such as a meat turning fork and give the stuck fish a gental upward tug. It will easily free itself. Following these instructions will make your unit run smoothly for several months. After months of use if the fish get sluggish, add 3 more DROPS (not a squirt) of dishwashing liquid, or you can empty the unit and start fresh again.

I love this jellyfish lava lamp!! I get so many compliments of it at work and when people go by, they stop to ask if they are real I like that you have the remote so you can change the color of the jellyfish and lighting. I also bought one for my house. It’s very relaxing to watch. Highly recommend

The coolest and most soothing aquarium that requires no stress of a live aquarium. Product works as described. I may buy another for myself, or even purchase again for gifts.

Looks awesome when its on and it was easy to set up. The only issue I have with it is that when you turn it on sometimes it will stay on 5 minutes then shut off. Other times it will stay on for hours before shutting off. The instructions say it is supposed to stay on for 4 hours but it's behavior is very inconsistent.

Put together well. Pretty colors and a 15 month can push buttons and it doesn’t knock over. Jellyfish are great!!

Filled up, started leaking instantly from the base. Quality obviously not a priority considering this is not a complex product. Baffling how you sell a product designed to hold water and it…. Does not hold water.

You will be happy you got this! Mesmorizing colors, movement of the jellyfish is great, jellyfish look real. We are so happy we got it! The machine has a 4 hour timer and will turnoff on its own. We use it in our kiddos room who doesn't like dark. It is bright, but not too bright to sleep. Nice features with many color options, easy to set up, and looks great.
