Great mouse toy for Maine Coons
The media could not be loaded. This is an amazing product and I love that it attaches to a metal hook with a metal wire and a stick. Our maine coon has figured out that these string toys just need to come apart so he can keep his prey so he always bites the string until it breaks. This toy is all metal so he can't chew through it. Perfection.Since he is of the mouser breed this toy is exciting for him and he obsesses over it. He chewed up the first one into thread and felt in 48 hours so in terms of durability if you have a regular cat this should hold up really well. If you have a cat who obsessively chews on it to make sure it's dead, it will last a couple days. The mouse is a great small size and even really looks like a field mouse, except it doesn't have legs. I would say it's a great value for each mouse too--the toy with the wand portion is 8 or 9 dollars in a store and these are 5-6 dollars each so it's a savings overall. The hook is a bit difficult to open without pliers, but I think that's a benefit so cats can't easily escape with the mouse and hide it somewhere.

Cat Addicted to These Things
I got these when the initial mouse that came with out cat catcher got chewed in half. Now, look, I'm all for exercising cat, and I'm glad he didn't get immediately bored with it. All 3 cats seriously enjoy it, so 5 stars there. I wish they lasted longer, but considering that one of our cats previously broke a cat tree by jumping on it too hard, I'm not terribly surprised that they usually only last about 3-4 weeks.I've been using it for 20-30 minutes and then immediately feeding them before we go to bed at night, so they can eat their "kill", which encourages them to go to sleep instead of participating in what my husband calls the "Nightly Cat Circus".BUT. One of our cats seriously has a problem. Since we put it away when it's not in use, he waits outside the closet door and cries. Now he's started to dig for it. If he catches it, he locks his jaws around it and won't let go. He's snuck into that closet, found it, and scuttled under furniture with it twice. He needs rehab. When he's not chasing the mouse, he's only thinking about mouse. This is a fantastic way to turn your cat into a flailing ball of wild murder energy, but apparently they just won't give up the hunt when playtime is over.

Refills for our favorite cat toy
Our adult cats go CRAZY for these mice. It's so fantastic that they sell these 5-pack refills! Although the mice hold up for a while, our cats are determined to kill them and eventually they get ripped apart. One of the best cat toys we've had!

My cat loves these, I tolerate the price because he loves them so much!
If my cat, Freddie, could give this 5 stars, he would. We keep these toys high in a closet and the cat is a little nervous about heights, but Freddie is so obsessed that he will find ways to break into the closet and climb the shelves to find this toy. Then he’ll drag the mouse and wand around the apartment crying to play. If you need to keep a fairly active and playful cat engaged, this is a great toy. Since I found these, Freddie has lost almost all interest in other toys.I wish they were a little more durable for the price. My cat loves to beat these up and chew on them, which leaves them a little worse for wear.

What have I done? (or best cat toy ever?)
I made the mistake of buying the wand and mouse toy for my youngest cat Masala because the mouse looked like her and I thought it was cute. Well. She FREAKING LOVES IT, refuses to play with anything else, and literally will look with pure disdain on any other mouse toy that I try to tempt her with. We have 30458273 other toys, and she sticks her nose up at all of them. She will ONLY play with this mouse, which we have named Mouseala. Masala knows her name and what it means. If I ask her where Mouseala is, she will bring her to me (if she knows where she is). She carries Mouseala with her throughout the house and hunts her and yowls at me to play with her (which means me throwing the mouse for her to chase, repeatedly... incessantly), and eventually a Mouseala gets lost and I have to replace her.I have multiple wands without mice because I couldn't find the replacement mice without buying the whole set, but Masala prefers full house hunting access, so she prefers Mouseala to be freed from her tether. If this mouse is ever discontinued I may have to resort to live mice to satisfy her (kidding!). ((OR AM I??)) (((Yes I am, I would never.)))Anyway, see picture for cuteness, or ominous hunting instinct. Please never ever discontinue this mouse.

Durability depends on your cat
These are by far my cats' favorite toys but one of my cats likes to bite deeply into all his toys and it only takes one good bite for these to fall apart. These would last for months with my other cat who only likes to chase and bat them around. So depending on your cat's play style (prey drive) they will last anywhere from several months to 5 minutes. I still buy them because they make my cats so happy, but wish they were built stronger or cost less.

My cats' favourite toy!
All three of my cats--ranging in age from 1 yr to 17 years old--absolutely love the Cat Catcher toy, to the extent that finally (after a LOT of play) they destroyed the mouse attachment. I bought this refill pack to refresh the Cat Catcher, and it has certainly done the trick! It's still my cats' favourite toy--they go wild for it (see photo of the 1 yr old playing with the refill mouse)--and the refill mice are fairly sturdy (I'm still on the first of the refill mice, and it's just starting to show some wear after 2 months of intense play). These are more expensive than other attachments, but it's worth it given how my cats respond to these mice.
