Kenwood DRV-A601W 4K Ultra Car Dash Cam with Built in GPS, G-Shock and 3-Inch Display

I bought one of these years ago when they first came out. It's the only car cam that has survived the long haul. The four other car cams I've owned died within a year of use. I live in the desert and the car interior temp get very high in the summer and killed the other cams but not this one. Sooooo...., I've just bought a second one for our second car and it's been installed and working just like the first one for several weeks now. I'm expecting similar performance. Also, the Kenwood desktop playback app is very well done. Haven't tried the phone app yet.

Good quality, easy or typical installation, and has lasted for sometime, unlike previous lower quality cameras. Good deal for the price.

When it works, it’s great. Good picture, front and rear camera, convenient magnetic mounting option so it’s easy to remove and replace when needed. This is the second unit I have had. The first unit lasted about 9 months, and then the display quit working. I replaced it with another and it only lasted 60 days before it quit powering on, altogether. Because I was over the 45 day warranty period, Kenwood wouldn’t replace it or repair. If I hadn’t spent the money getting it all professionally installed and all the wiring ran for this and the rear camera, I wouldn’t have bought a second unit. Live and learn I guess…

Image quality is good, not great, as I expected, but still good enough for my needs. The polarizing filter helps cut down sun glare, as I often end up driving directly into the sun while going about my day.

I like this camera and its functions - but it keeps turning off and I think it is to do with the heat it generates as well as the heat from outside. I live in Arizona so that may play into it.

Stopped working. Don't buy it.

L'ho acquistata mesi fa ma è solo da circa un mese che la utilizzo, posso dire con certezza che è una delle migliori dashcam che abbia mai provato. L’ho installata sulla mia auto per motivi di sicurezza , e ha superato le aspettative sotto ogni aspetto. 🔍 Qualità video eccellente, anche di notte La risoluzione 4K UHD è davvero impressionante. I dettagli sono nitidi, le targhe si leggono chiaramente anche in movimento, e la qualità notturna è sorprendentemente buona. In condizioni di scarsa illuminazione, riesce comunque a catturare immagini chiare e ben bilanciate, senza rumore eccessivo. Inoltre lo schermo con comandi touch integrato e veramente di ottima fattura e dalle dimensioni giuste, ne troppo grande ne troppo piccolo è molto utile per rivedere i video e poi decidere se scaricarli o eliminarli. 📱 App intuitiva e Wi-Fi integrato Una delle funzioni che ho apprezzato di più è la connessione Wi-Fi integrata. Tramite l’app dedicata, posso scaricare i video direttamente sullo smartphone senza dover rimuovere la scheda SD. L’interfaccia è semplice, fluida e permette anche di modificare le impostazioni della dashcam in tempo reale. 🧲 Supporto magnetico super pratico Il sistema di montaggio magnetico è una vera chicca. Permette di staccare e riattaccare la dashcam in pochi secondi, ideale se si vuole evitare di lasciarla visibile in auto. Il supporto è stabile e non vibra nemmeno su strade sconnesse. 🔄 Angolo di visione ampio e GPS integrato Con un angolo di 160°, riesce a catturare un’ampia porzione della strada, inclusi i lati. Il modulo GPS integrato registra la posizione e la velocità, utilissimo in caso di incidenti o contestazioni. I dati si sincronizzano perfettamente con i video. 💾 Registrazione in loop e protezione G-sensor La funzione di registrazione in loop è ben implementata: sovrascrive i file più vecchi solo se non sono protetti. Il G-sensor rileva automaticamente gli impatti e salva i video in una cartella separata, evitando che vengano cancellati accidentalmente. 🌡️ Resistenza alle alte temperature L’ho testata anche in giornate molto calde (oltre 30°C) e non ha mai dato segni di cedimento. Il corpo è solido, ben costruito, e il display da 3" è luminoso e leggibile anche sotto il sole. ✅ Conclusione La KENWOOD DRV-A601W è una dashcam completa, affidabile e facile da usare. È perfetta per chi cerca un dispositivo di alta qualità con funzioni avanzate, senza complicazioni. Dopo settimane di test, posso dire che è un acquisto che rifarei senza esitazioni.

Simple to install & user friendly.

I just wasted my time and money to buy this crap. PLS DONT buy this product. It’s not working just few hours after delivery, I had to make a return asap. I read the reviews but I never learn from it. I fixed it but it switches off after 2mins recording and switches on again. I used the KENWOOD DRV-A501 previously and it lasted 2.5years but this one didn’t show sign of durability from the begin. If you have few cash to play around with, kindly use it on something else as this product will disappoint you. I thought the previous reviews were bias until the exact thing happened to me. Getting a good dash camera is one of the most difficult thing on the internet but if you get a good one, then you are lucky. If you don’t like the stress of returning a product or claiming a refund after or during warranty period, Pls I beg you for your sanity, avoid this product. The one star reviews aren’t bias. I can tell you that for free!! Best of luck in your search for a dash camera.

Bonne qualité 4K de la vidéo, je vais m'attarder juste sur les points faible de la dashcam. 3 niveaux pour le capteur G-sensor (haut/moyen et bas) j'ai essayé les 3 niveaux de G-sensor et conclusion: je le laisse au niveau bas car dans les 2 autres modes chaque nid de poule, dos d'âne ou autre déclenche la protection du fichier vidéo et même avec le niveau bas quand je ferme mon coffre la protection du fichier se déclenche automatiquement donc je suis sûr quand cas d'accident le fichier sera protéger. J'ai mis une carte de 256 Go qui est le max accepté par la dashcam ce qui permet d'enregistrer un peux plus de 08H00 de vidéo. L'idéal aurait été de pouvoir mettre une carte micro SD d'une capacité supérieur, 512Go ou 1To aurais été super. Et dernier point le support magnétique très bien mais quand même très dur à enlever, il faut tenir fermement le support magnétique d'une main et de l'autre la cam pour l'enlever, au début je n'y arrivais pas, j'avais peur de faire une mauvaise manip et de casser la cam, j'ai contacté Kenwood et j'ai réussi, il faut vraiment ne pas avoir peur.
