Great Camera, Crap Software
I bought one of these refurbished and thought it was problematic, so I returned it for a new one.....I have a myQ Smart garage door opener that uses the same app, so thought this would be an affordable addition that would allow me to use the same app to see inside my garage, so seemed like a no brainer. The new camera seemed to work more consistently, but I couldn't use the microphone speaker. I called customer support and they had me download a Craftsman app to get the camera to work, but it doesn't notify me when my garage door is opened and closed like the myQ app does.....they really need to get their crap together when it comes to their software! Other than that, the camera itself works great. Clear image, night vision works well, sensors picks up movement like it should, even when bugs come in sight.

Purchased the subscription
I now have 6 cameras in my house and it all started when I got the garage door opener that has a built in camera. The 30 day free trial for recording and notifications was worth the full subscription cost. The indoor cameras will drop out from time to time, but pretty good otherwise.Do wish they had a record video option, currently only take a photo option is available while viewing the live stream. Also need to make mounting wall brackets. Make those improvement and I would change my review to 5 stars.Maybe the easiest camera setup. App is 4/5, and makes setting up a camera and updating the firmware pretty easy. I got my 2 newest cameras setup in less than 5 minutes.

Easy to install, professional looking
This camera was smaller than it seemed in pictures, which is good. Very easy to install and setup. Connected to the MyQ app in the first try. We already had the MyQ app for other garage door products, so we had no learning curve this time - but even the first time was relatively painless. Thus camera has a small wall wart power supply that must be plugged into a 120 volt standard receptacle - make sure you’ve got a receptacle near your preferred installation location before ordering. Picture quality is excellent in day time. In a totally pitch black garage, you’ll see little or nothing even in night mode - there needs to be at least a little light for the camera to see anything. It does have audio capabilities, both speaking and listening. The MyQ app displays Chamberlain product ads, which takes up valuable display screen space on your smartphone - which is annoying. But otherwise, the app is easy to setup, learn, and use.

The definition of insanity!
I built an automotive shop in 2020 with three bay doors, each door has a Liftmaster opener that uses MyQ app and has worked flawlessly for the past four years. Black Friday 2024 rolls around and I buy Three MyQ Garage cameras for a decent price for added security when I’m away. I follow the steps to connect the cameras to the app, cameras pair to everything just fine during the process until I go to name the cameras and enter their location. (Why it needs a location entered is beyond me) and this message on all three cameras pops up; “ we apologize looks like we cannot update the name and location of your camera at this time, but it is in your device list. Please try to update name and location at a later time.” Light on cameras are solid green indicating a successful installation, however the cameras are no where to be found on my device list, so I reset the cameras and try again only to receive the same results. So after many attempts to reach someone from Chamberlain through an AI, I finally get a hold of a human that has me repeat all those processes over and over again (2hrs on the phone) just to get the same results. They even had my delete the app and reinstall it, reset my router, and they even told my I may need a laptop or an iPad to install it properly. All I have is an iPhone. When I try to scan the QR code on the actual camera in the MyQ app, I’m prompted with “we don’t recognize this QR code” At the end of this tech support call, nothing was fixed, tech support tells me they will escalate the issue to a supervisor and I should receive an email within 24-48 business hours, not days! What does that even mean? A full week? It’s been two days and have yet to receive an email with a solution. It just would have been nice to have one app I can connect my entire shop to was my thinking behind buying these cameras. I don’t think the cameras themselves are faulty. I just think the app is not working properly. And then reading other reviews on here it says that you need a five dollar monthly subscription for them to work? I had no idea about that. I can’t even get them to start working to begin with! You would think with everybody that’s paying five dollar monthly subscription that their tech-support and their app would work better! Thanks for nothing Chamberlain!

I love it and MyQ technology
I wish the cord was longer but that's the only negative thing I have to say. It was easy to connect to my existing system. The quality is top notch. The picture quality is extremely clear. I love that it's magnetic and the magnet is extremely strong and durable. I highly recommend this garage camera.

How to install on brick and mortar
Product is great but install was terrible.I purchased the outside camera. I’m not sure why they would send drywall screws for something that is intended for outdoor use.I wanted to install this camera on brick and mortar. I purchased two 1 1/4 inch mortar screws from Home Depot (the blue ones that have the t25 star head). The screws of the head to need to sit flush with the base so I had to heat the head of the screw (I suggest using a stove to heat the head of the screw. Use pliers for holding screw), and then melt the plastic around the holes on the camera base (do not push too hard. You don’t want the screw head to go all the way through). I also had to make the holes bigger so the screw to will sit flush. All in, it took 3 hours for install. You’ll also need a 3/4in brick and mortar drill bit and a drill that has the hammer function so you can drill through the brick so the power cord will fit through the wall.Cameras great though.
