Renewing
I was stuck…still kinda am but in a better way. I have been to all sides of prayer and what “I” thought is was to do, for or why we did it. Thank you for concise, insightful information. The book is not overloading. There are examples I can use and chew on and incorporate. Thank you!

Prayer Help
Skye Jethani provides insightful aspects of prayer. He presents a wider panorama of the meaning and application of prayer than I have found in many books on the subject I have read. His mode of presentation is fresh and engaging and encourages meaningful reflection on the significant aspects of prayer. It is an easy read yet touches on a subject that has a profound effect on the spiritual life of the committed believer.

Thoughtful and fun
This book is a fantastic resource for those who, like me, are re-learning to pray. In short, thoughtful essays, Skye presents powerful truths about what prayer is and isn't. After making quick work of dismantling "vending machine prayer," Skye starts to address deeper questions like "Is prayer just about talking to God?" and reveals that the shocking answer is no! While interpersonal relationship with God is an important dimension of prayer, it's not the only dimension. Prayer is how we align ourselves with God's will, and are formed in the likeness of Jesus. Prayer isn't just what we say or think directly to God, it's our lived-out faith. Skye even addresses liturgy, and how it's been wrongly expelled from evangelical religious practice.A very solid book, and very easy to read! The short chapters make it a great devotional, or reading material to fill the gaps in your day. Skye's doodles illustrate his point well and make each lesson memorable.Highly recommend!

Whether you are new to prayer or an old timer, you will find spiritual food to fill your soul.
I love how this book by Skye Jethani deepens our understanding of what it means to commune with God. Some of us think certain knowledge, activities, or practices are required for effective prayer, but he pushes us past our limited thinking! For example, he says, "They mistake mere intellect for communion with the indwelling Holy Spirit." Uh OH! Get ready to explode some of your past belief systems and to see prayer in a WHOLE NEW way! Each chapter includes his lesson, doodles (which really help you grasp the concepts), and Scripture passages that tie it all together. The topics are great conversation starters, especially for young people and small group Bible studies.Whether you are new to prayer or been praying for 40 years, you will find spiritual food that will fill your soul and deepen your walk with Jesus.Once you finish that book, I highly recommend his other books! What's Wrong With Religion, showed me the many ways my past perspectives and cultural views were not at all what Jesus was actually talking about or wanting us to do.
