If you want to burn your house down then this is the product for you!
100% NOT happy with this product and I encourage you to either get refunds for purchased Tower Cleaners ASAP or stay far, far away if you are thinking of purchasing one. I genuinely can't believe that this cut corner, cheap parts manufacturer are even allowed to trade in the UK.I bought this carpet cleaner on June 29th, I assembled the unit no problem and proceeded to read the instruction manual to make sure I used it correctly (it cost £88 after all!) This is where I came across my first problem...1. The operating instructions are about as clear as your carpets will be after using the cleaner, which is to say "as clear as muck". Now, I'm no stranger to carpet cleaners having previously owned a Bissell QuickWash 1950 for about 12 years (which is clearly what this Tower piece of S#@T is based on) and I am pretty confident that I know how to use one. Note: if you have owned a Bissell before and are contemplating purchasing the TCW10 based on it's likeness, the two do not go hand in hand, so avoid the TCW10!2. After following the instructions given in the manual and reassuring myself by trying to find tutorial videos and a clearer manual (FYI - there aren't any for this model online) I went to clean my first carpet (after spending a lot of time carefully vacuuming the carpet of any additional bits and loose dirt before using the washer). Less than a minute after using the washer my living room was filled with plumes of smoke, naturally I assumed that I had done something silly like flooded the unit or got cleaning solution on the cable which had made it's way to the mains (it's IP65 rated so that was unlikely) or the unit had a blockage (which wouldn't make sense because as I mentioned ... I had made sure there was no more loose debris on the carpet). I switched the cleaner off, took the collection tank off and checked the foam filters on the suction pump and the filter located in the top of the collection tank, both were fine and completely clear. I gave the unit the benefit of the doubt and gave it a few hours to cool down (which also allowed me to ensure that the cleaner itself was no longer smouldering!) Once I got the cleaner ready to use again, the same thing happened, smoke bellowing out of the collection tank filter and the smell of melting plastic filling up my living room. As we were still in lockdown, I didn't even have the option to send the unit back to Tower as the post offices were closed which played fully into Towers advantage as the cutoff for the return date was the 31st of July (we weren't out of lockdown in this area until the 1st of August) which left me with the only option of calling the local appliance repair shop, after explaining to the repairman what was happening the first thing he asked was if the cleaner manufacturer was a "Tower" or an "Easy Home" as both makes are notoriously poorly made, when I said Tower, the repairman actually advised to send it back and get a refund as they are of inferior quality. The repairman advised me that while the instruction manual says that you should make a backwards and forwards motion with the cleaner, the problem with the forwards motion is that it creates a blockage in the suction gap and as such the motor has to work in overdrive which causes it to overheat, the repairman also advised that if you press the spray trigger down while going forward the bottom of the cleaner gets saturated and doesn't allow the lifter to remove the excess liquid. The best way I found to get the cleaner to even do a quarter of what it is supposedly designed to do is to wheel it forward, turn it on, pull the spray trigger and drag the cleaner backwards, when you are at the backwards limit, turn the unit off, wheel it back to the start and turn it back on and drag it back without pressing the spray trigger and this is where problem number 3 comes in .....3. After "sort of" getting the cleaner to work, I found that after doing a small patch with maybe 2 at most spray runs I discovered that the carpet was still saturated, there was definitely water lifting into the collection tank and I made sure it was emptied regularly but the carpet, despite several runs without any spray - just the suction, remained saturated and the carpet didn't look clean in the slightest. The manual says that the carpet will remain slightly damp and that it will dry within 24 hours but at no point does it say that the carpet remains saturated to the point where the cleaner can no longer lift any water but you will hear a squelching noise every time you walk over the carpet (the cleaning solution did make the carpet smell nice for about a day though), which then brings me to problem number 4!4. The cleaner did such a bad job of lifting the water from the carpet that it remained wet for 3 days despite all the windows in the house being left open to circulate air and turning the heating on for an hour here and there ... in 26 degree summer heat! The resulting damage from this was a foul smelling house and a mildew/mould ingrained carpet which was damaged beyond repair .... absolutely fantastic when it was only a 3ft x 3ft patch I had cleaned to make sure the cleaner was working properly, meaning I then had to replace the carpet for the entire living room putting me at yet another financial loss (I count the Tower TWC10 as a financial loss). My advice? Don't give this company your hard earned cash. pay for a better known brand, there are bigger named brands on Amazon which are selling carpet cleaners at a cheaper price than the TWC10 with much better ratings. Don't make the same mistake I did in thinking that the more you pay for something the better it is.If any of you get the same problems as me, make sure you get straight on to Tower & Trading Standards and make sure this "Del Boy" company gets shut down or issues partial refunds!

Suitable for small areas only.
Bought to clean daughters bedroom carpet. Had to replace water 30 times. It achieved some cleaning but not visibly to carpet. Often it would not send out the water in spite of me checking all was in order. Sometimes would send off a high whistling noise that was unbearable to the ears. (In spite of ensuring it was all in order). More suitable to use on small rugs. I even attempted this and tested with various spills. It did not work to clean them. Instead just left streaks/ lines of water and didnt pull up the markers. Ineffective on uneven flooring and generaLly Just not as effective as it claims to be.

Awful
Really heavy. Stairs are impossible. Cleaning is hardly any difference. Sadly I would have lost 60 pounds in trying to return the item. If I were you I would buy a VAX for a little extra. I’m stuck with this now! It is absolutely pointless

Dam good little machine for very little money
Had this a few months now and thought I should set the record straight as alot of the negative reviews are VERY unjustified imo,I've used alot of other carpet cleaners over the years ranging from little home VAXs to big industrial/professional extraction cleaners and I can honestly say I am very impressed with this very cheap machine!!My only real criticism is the handle could be 3/6" longer and the trigger button could be a softer plastic as after a while depressing it starts to hurt a little
