I was surprised by the amount of negative reviews claiming that this was a poor lunchbox. Of course it is. This is just a replacement/alternative insert to be used in a Bentgo Kids Chill lunchbox (purchased separately). The lunchbox is leakproof; this insert and flimsy top is not. Because it’s not designed to be used on its own.We already have the Bentgo Kids Chill lunchbox but since my kid goes to school everyday, we needed a second insert to prepare lunch the night before while the other is being washed. This works perfectly for that use case. Feels about the same weight and quality as the original insert. No complaints!

The entire Bentgo system of products is a winner in my house. With a kindergartener back in school we've been using these for 2 years now. These are perfect for packed lunches. I'm able to keep this sorted and organized for my picky little eater. The only reason this product lost a star for me relates to the overall product design when this is being used in a case with an ice pack, the closing is finicky and requires perfect alignment. Outside of that minor issue this is a great product.

Item is not good quality took it out of package and couldn’t get the lid reached after opening it to look. Would be really hard for a child to open and close.

This is not meant to be a stand alone lunch box and yess it will leak if you use it that way. It's meant to be used for meal prepping and a cheaper alternative to buying two or more entire Bentgo chill lunch boxes. Prep the lunches ahead of time and then just pop them into the hard shell when it's time to use them.

Great color, and I love the lid to prep additional meals. It fits inside the bento box fine, but I’ve noticed that it doesn’t close as securely as the original tray insert—but hasn’t seemed to affect the leak-proof seal. Love that it’s dishwasher safe.

This bento is great! It keeps food warm and cold.

Compared to the regular bentgo kids, this is a cheap piece of garbage. The lid does not clip on easily - and not because it’s so secure that it’s hard to click, but rather because the tray is so thin and flimsy that the tray edges buckle when you try to clip it closed. I can usually get them to click in place by supporting the tray from behind with another finger while I try to carefully pull the tab over and click it into place, but it shouldn’t feel like I’m doing complicated acrobatics to close a child’s lunch box……. And one of the tabs just doesn’t even click closed half the time - it’s too loose and can’t be secured at all. The ONLY reason I’ve kept this item is because I need a chilled lunch box because my child has a very long day and between the freezer tray inside (comes with the full lunch box) and 2 bentgo ice packs in the inner pocket of his lunch box, the food is still cool even by the end of the day. When used in the regular case, the lunch box is fine. But it’s a terrible product when you just want to put the clear lid on it overnight while it’s in my fridge.

I like that it has lots of space, and I used it for my daughter school lunch box.
